IGN have no cred.

They gave MW2's graphics a 10 and GOW 3's a 9.5. Something is seriously wrong here, IGN should be forced to explain this one. No this thread shouldn't be locked because it's about IGN buying into hype rather than GOW3.

Maybe GoWIII has some graphical glitches?

I must sau though that I'm not IGN's biggest fan...

TC, Maybe they are right regarding GOW3's graphics.

I can't comment on GOW3 nor can anyone really, since we all haven't played it in the comfort of our own homes, at our pace, on our HDTVs. :P

We are still waiting to buy it.

Now that I think about it though, COD6:MW2 having a 10/10 graphics is a joke.:| Eh.

I tore MW2 up, beat all 69 Spec Ops on Vet, then I did it again on PS3 getting a Platinum. A 10 in graphics is a joke.

I never pay attention to IGN in that category I guess.

COD games seem to be measured against themselves, because those aren't the best graphics at all.

I haven't played it yet but does 0.5 make this huge difference? Maybe they wanted to point out that GoW graphics isn't as good as they expected. Then you know, reviews are very subjective.

IGN suck. They act like cheerleaders for the games they review, all praise and gloss over any critiscism. That's how it seems to me anyway....locopatho

GS does it too now and then. They go: this game will be awesome! in the preview and then...

they have about as much credibility as here don't they?

after all, a review score is still somebodie's opinion so is there really any point in ranting at a score you don't agree with?

and if i'm perfectly honest i the only thing about the god of war graphics that i'm impressed by is there sheer scale of them. but the fact everything about the game is collossal and epic doesn't mean it automatically deserves a top score

If you read my post above in this thread regarding the TC and GOW3, you'd know my feeling on God of War. I agree with you, but that's not my point.

COD is my only point. Those graphics are not 10 worthy, and that's from looking at it critically and from playing it so many times.

Absolutely.

They aren't terrible, they are sufficient. They are decent, they do the job, it looks nice but MW2's graphics aren't 10/10 worthy.

well in their video review they said the graphics were amazing, but wasn't consistent in some areas

that could be why

but yea...i agree, MW2's graphics are like an 8.5 or a 9.0

Different reviewers have different standards.

IGN is a freaking joke now...all they do is have a Playstation team that over critisizes games, while the Xbox 360 team under critizises and ignores problems within the games they are reviewing. MW2 looks like complete garbage on all systems. It has probably the worst texturing this gen, pixelated shadowing, static lighting, and average at best character models, and they give it a 10 in graphics? IGN:"Weill itz da big leapz for COD4z" well its easy to make a big leap from COD 4, as its plagued with the problems i listed above, but its somehow uglier than MW2...Anyways, they gave Bayonetta, a game that had a crappy story,horendous character models, and average visuals at best a 9.5 while GOW3 a 9.3? I understand though, because the Xbox team rated Bayonetta, while the Playstation team rated GOW3

They did say the graphics can be "disjointed": some parts look amazing, whilst other parts don't. MW2 ran at 60fps, but I cannot understand their rating.
