I sent them an email with a question, no doubt I'll forget by next Monday though.

My question: Will the Forza and Microsoft branded Fanatec wheels, pedals, shifters be supported on the Xbox One?

1) LOL @ IGN or even the fact you could begin to take them seriously. They are so overly mainstream its not even funny.

2) What did you expect? Reviewers and interviewers never want to take away from advertising dollars inadvertanly. IGN and other gaming websites make the majority of their money via advertisements they dont want to risk pissing off a advertisers. Microsoft means money so they dont want to bite the hand that feeds them.

The amount of money involved in the videogame industry makes it next to impossible to get any kind of real news.  It's an extremely controlled industry.

One question- Why does my XBLA games not carry over to the XB1? It is beyond bullshit that they don't.

Agreed that it is bullshit.

The reason is likely to do with backwards compatibility.

My understanding of it is that the Arcade games for the 360 won't function with the hardware of the Xbox One - the way the consoles hardware and software is constructed won't allow it. Same goes for accessories as far as I understand.

Great questions, obviously this is what people wanted to know about the system because it doesn't offer much else

there's hundreds of better questions they could have asked. i just feel like they basically gave them a pass. ask legit questions from the gaming community, not questions about avatars and achievements.

M$ probably conditioned the interview. Seeing as how M$ keeps backtracking and being unclear on everything they say I guess they are tired and scared of answering difficult questions. They are probably waiting for Sony to say stuff so they can just copy them.

They're updating it every Monday, clearly those are just a set of questions related to avatars and Xbox Live, they obviously just wanted to keep things in some sort of order rather than have a big list of random questions. Oh wait, sorry, I meant to say LOL STOOPID IGN U SUCK

Name one game publication that would actually ask hard hitting questions, though?

Shewgenja
RockPaperShotgun. Has given EA a hard time whenever justified. They would ask Microsoft (and fail to receive answers to) all manners of difficult questions. They don't deal with console business though.

Yeah by far the best gaming media out there. Too bad they don't deal with consoles but probably for the best, they could get spoiled.

Yeah. I'm thinking also, they want more traffic. If 100k people saw the full list today, that's only 100k views. If 100k people come back weekly, bam! Money. Smart way to do it.

You do realize they have to send the questions in beforehand to Microsoft? And if they make up new question on the spot they most likely would not answer directly, and then IGN will never get an interview with Microsoft again.

Its business.

IGN, as a publication, has been pushing the Xbox One pretty ardently for the entire month of July. I know that these two companies are throwing around advertising money and drumming up support for their consoles, but this one is pretty much the worst.

The whole point of an "AMA" is that the person field questions from all directions, and the group chooses which ones to answer. This entire article defeats the point of that. Like many here have said, there are far better questions that could be answered to better sell the device rather than just fielding some softball questions to stuff they spent the entire month of July sending out two paragraph press releases regarding.

Agreed that its a weak bunch fo questions, but its obvious that this is just a weekly segment type thing to get site traffic and try to generate interest in the X1. I wouldn't be surprised if Microsoft requested this. Now users will come back every Monday to see what the new set of questions and answers are....and probably leave disappointed at the weak questions that were asked each week. I'm sure IGN did their part and sent MS the questions they got from users...then MS decided which ones were "safe" to answer. It gives the impression MS is opening up to the community, when in reality you probably won't learn anything new from this segment. I'm sure MS has an add or two on the page as well to make money from hits.
