Not a bad list
What's in store for Nintendo at E3 2009?
95% - Kid Frickin' Icarus
Our thoughts: Here's this title, right, that nobody under the age of 20 would probably know about - and it was only ever on the original Nintendo Entertainment System - but it left an indelible impression on players decades later. Kid Icarus is ready to drop - and we're putting it at number one on our E3 predictions list.
90% - DSi compatible or specific games:
* 90% - Pokemon
Our thoughts: Pokemon, like no other franchise on a handheld, sells systems. All it would take is a DSi-focussed, fully-fledged Pokemon adventure to make this handheld a must-purchase.
* 85% - Mario
Our thoughts: Mario games are becoming less and less of a must-have at launch. However, the brand still holds just as much weight - if not more - as it did back on N64 days and earlier. A DSi game would make a heck of a lot of sense -and it's been a while since New Super Mario Bros...
* 65% - Smash Bros
Our thoughts: Surely, after three successful console versions and even a fan-made flash game, a handheld version is in the works. The DSi seems as good a choice as the DS itself - but will it happen?
* 50% - Kirby
Our thoughts: Arguably a fanboy favourite, Kirby's adventures are endlessly creative and entertaining. We're giving this a 50/50 shot for DSi at E3.
* 20% - Metroid
Our thoughts: Don't hold your breath, but it could happen - a true 2D, DSi-enabled sequel with downloadable levels and content. Hey -we can dream, right?
80% - MotionPlus Incorporated into Wii Remote, Packed In
Our thoughts: At this stage, we've all seen the dongle - but we're guessing that Nintendo R&D has a version of the Wii Remote with this sucker built in. It's totally possible that it'll come packed in with a version of the Wii retail unit from day one, too.
80% - More DSi-to-Wii Interaction
Our thoughts: The DSi's Wi-Fi connectivity is itching to be used by the Wii and vice versa. We're tipping that Nintendo's going to have some pretty nifty demonstrations on hand, powered by new games for both platforms.
75% - New Channels, 4Kids Pokemon Eps streaming
Our thoughts: Probably an easy one - there might be new channel announcements for Wii and we're speculating that it could revolve around media streaming. A good guess might be a 4Kids Entertainment agreement that could stream Pokemon 24/7. Or we could be completely off the mark.
70% - DSi-specific Channels
Our thoughts: We're sure it's coming - but it's a matter of when. Like the Wii, we're guessing a handful of news, weather and Nintendo channels are on the way.
60% - New Wii Zelda
Our thoughts: It's been a few years - time to lift the lid on the next Zelda, in video form only, but with a Christmas 2009 or early 2010 release date. Again, it's in the works - but will this E3 hold the big reveal?
50% - MotionPlus Delayed
Our thoughts: There's a 50/50 chance that MotionPlus is going to be delayed. Despite EA recently demoing the technology for a title due in April, there hasn't been a single murmur from Nintendo about Wii Sports Resort or any other MotionPlus title- and that's worrying.
Long-shot Predictions:
40% - GTA for Wii Announced
Our thoughts: Off the back of incredible critical and fan success with GTA: Chinatown Wars for DS, it would make a lot of sense for a division of Rockstar to be hard at work on a Wii Grand Theft Auto. However, it really depends on whether Rockstar are concerned about the demographics for the Wii...
2% - Wii DVD Playback
Our thoughts: It'll be a cold day in hell. A cold, cold day.
I think their 2% prediction about DVDs is a bit silly, it's only a a firmware update that's required and look what they just did with the SDHC card.
Other than that if they really want to sell Wiis, to kill 360 and PS3 dead in the water then they'll announce a DSi/Wii compatible Pokemon MMO. So you can play it any where and anytime.

[QUOTE="killerfist"]So IGN is 80% sure that Kojima will show a 360 version of MGS4? Meh...I doubt that. I'm happy as long as they (nintendo) show something Zelda Wii related.HarlockJCWith the DS one coming out this year....I don't see a Wii Zelda until at least next year Bah, they don't have to release it in 2009...just show something! lol I forgot about the DS Zelda.

That is not always Nintendo style and I really don't mind it. Look at Zelda DS we just saw the first trailer for a game which is coming out this year. I have a more of a problem with Sony who likes to show games years before they come out like GOW3, DC mmo, and MAG. Than I do having to wait on a trailer for game that comes out within a year of the trailer.
Sir, Nintendo should hire you. This is the game peolpe have wanted since ... in evolution of mankind. I NEVER, EVER play my Wii. A Pokemon MMO would change that, and sell millions tooI think their 2% prediction about DVDs is a bit silly, it's only a a firmware update that's required and look what they just did with the SDHC card.

-Snooze-
I remember reading about the developer of pokemon and he said they would never make an mmo. If you look in google you might be able to find a link.
I must say, their prediction for Kid Icarus is very high. Not saying there isn't a good chance of it being announced, but I don't see any reason for its probability to be that high, given how little information there has been regarding its status.
I'm hoping for a Golden Sun Wii and Zelda Wii for Nintendo E3. And an announcement of a Zelda Wii is certainly in the realm of possbility even though we most likely won't be getting it this year. Look at Twilight Princess, it was announced in 2004, only a little more than a year after Wind Waker, but it didn't come out until near the end of 2006.

I remember seeing that as well, but imaging a Pokemon MMO where you play it on your DSi while on the move and then get home and play the same game on the Wii while at home.
It would sell both machines to the point that the Wii would never be in stock in it's own life time LOL.
[QUOTE="SpruceCaboose"]Predictions are relevant to anything now? I predict with a 75% chance that Ninty will buy the globe and make everyone into real life Miis.HarlockJCI predicted you would say that I must be Mario, because I just got 1-Up'd!Special thanks to xkcd for the cribbed quote...
The MS list looks just as casual. :lol: Avatar party games... 110millionI think it's safe to say that 2006's e3 will be the last good e3 :(
[QUOTE="110million"]The MS list looks just as casual. :lol: Avatar party games... ShinobishyguyI think it's safe to say that 2006's e3 will be the last good e3 :( Well it is all speculation from IGN for the most part, I heard this E3 was supposed to return to form at least slightly to how it was back in 2006, and I still expect 3rd parties to show off some good stuff even if Nintendo, Sony and MS don't have that great of showings. Its best to expect the worst if the trend continues from the past two years though.
[QUOTE="svetzenlether"]And...? When a poster flames a lot it's hard for long time posters to take that person seriously. A lot of your posts are just flames. You have to find a balances between posts that are flame and good posts. Then when you do flame don't just flame for no reason. Like this thread the link you gave has little wrong with it, yet you try to turn it into an attack against Nintendo fans. It looks bad on you has a poster and makes your next tread look worse in comparison. I am not trying to put you down or anything like that. You always talk big about the hardcore and the casuals so let me ask you a question. What, iyo, makes you such a hardcore gamer? Taking system wars a little too seriously :lol:

So for you, a casual is a bad thing, do you really think that you are superior just because you are a "Hardcore gamer"? hell, i dont care if Nintendo release a "Casual" game, as long as is fun, is fine with me.
Anyway, i would love to see a new Metroid Wii, a Fire Emblem and a new Kirby.
