"The game controls surprisingly well, with your hands controlling the steering and your feet controlling the car's acceleration. Stepping forward gives your ride some juice and stepping back hits the brakes.

Although this is just a minor taste of what's possible with Project Natal, it's great to see that the system will be possible with previously released games that might not have been designed with motion control in mind."

looks like it's not just another eyetoy clone

I bet you'll love it when you get your first car. :) I take it you don't have one since you identify it with reality. It's a great feeling, my friend.

I should have been more specific. I liked the way that they applied a new peripheral to a game that's been out for over a year. That's not too common.

Who said you didnt? The videos show you players holding their arms out directly, which makes sense because your supposed to be holding a steering wheel.

The difference is this isnt Nintendo, and you dont have a controller. Considering this is a camera which recognizes your actions, in a racing game it seems highly doubtful that you can postion your arms down facing the ground or in another direction which doesnt fit the car model your supposed to be in.

one thing everyone's missing is with the analog triggers you can apply light or high pressure how precisely could you do that with natal?

well you would have to raise your arms to "turn the wheel" as there's no peripheral

Driving games with motion controls will always be bad, because there's no resistance like with a joystick or wheel. People often take this for granted until they're crashing into things and flying off the road.

technically you can use one if you like, from what i understood you can use an item, let the camera scan it and use it as the basis for it's movement.

One thing that people also forgets, playing with a Camera means you need to be standing... i'm f'n 6"4... there's no way my TV stand right in front of me when i'm standing. My Flat HD is not like 5,6 foots from the floor. It's on my eyes level when i'm sitting.. like everybody's Tv.

Also you need a lot of room, and you can't play really late when people are sleeping because steping on the floor or emulating a jump will make a lot of noise.

All these simple things will start to emerge from bad reviews once this thing come into people lives.

It's just a bad idea... IMO.

i think you can also use a real wheel or a wheel like object if you like. Basically you let the camera scan it (if i understood correctly)

yeah and how much is this going to cost? like MS charges 100$ for wifi.. i can only imagine how much this will set you back, not only that but, it should be standard with the system. i mean, havent people learned yet ADD ONS DO NOT WORK... not enough devs support them and not enough buy them, they should have waited for the next xbox to launch this

i agree

i agree on the price but not the support....

Dualshock was introduced for the PSone and got very wide ranging support from devs...

The key thing as always is demand for the features if 360 owners start to prefer games with support for motion etc. devs will support it

Then again to get the interest of gamers Microsoft need the games
