Well it looks like the war against Nvidia and consoles is already over and the consoles won !!!!
PC and Switch with a PS5 later on in the gen when it gets a slim version, price drop and some decent bundles.
You mean the console gamer's who are worried about the PS5/XSX costing more than $400... Aren't interested in a $500 and $700 GPU?...
First thing you learn in selling cars is to know your market, the console market are Toyota Prius market you can't walk up to them trying to sell a Tesla regardless of how much they look at it through the window.
Well yeah. PC has been more powerful than consoles for some time now. Most of us that have been with a specific platform for a generation or four will stick with that platform. We know what to expect and we know the games will work on it for however long they make games for that platform.
Not that hard to figure out.
Not surprising as the consoles offer good quality for value price (I am assuming the next gen consoles will be around $500-$600).
PC's will more than likely always have the performance advantage but the price to performance ratio is not great for most users
I'd never let graphics determine which platform I go with.
No money and marketing decides that... The core fans clearly aren't the 150 million or the 110 million from Wii and PS4 sales because how would you explain the Wii U and PS3 sales?...
Majority a consoles sales are bought buy parents for their kids.
100% of the high end PC market is made by working adults bought for them selves. Two different markets... One has choice and researches their needs before buying the other group just buy a box as long as the box isn't too expensive or then they will wait a few years.
Consoles gamer's have this idea that the sales of the highest selling console reflects their core gamer audience yet PC market manages to sell all most the same and sometime more units per game on multi plats.
Consoles are for kids bought buy parents and the rest of the people are fanboys and people who buy all platforms to play all games like you or me who have the money to do so.

Maybe dodgy Nvidia marketing put them off.
That poll has to be false. I was told by Sony fannies that console gamers only game on consoles because of exclusives. With Sony moving 1st party to PC, there is no need for consoles anymore. Why the sudden change in dialogue?
No you were not.
Console gamer's will always play on consoles because they CANT afford a good PC... It doesn't matter what game comes to PC.
Sony games coming to PC just means PC gamers who clearly have money to buy all the console no longer have to suffer with 30FPS gaming and buying a plastic blow dryer that requires you to pay $50 a year to play online.
Not surprising as the consoles offer good quality for value price (I am assuming the next gen consoles will be around $500-$600).
PC's will more than likely always have the performance advantage but the price to performance ratio is not great for most users
You can build a PC with a RTX 3070 for 1K... A PS5 ends up being $499, the PC will have better price to performance because a RTX 3070 is 2x the performance of a 2080 and the PS5 is slower than that.
Its more expensive... But the price to performance THIS time around is in favour of PC.

Show me this $1000 PC build please.. don't forget to include all peripherals
I'd never let graphics determine which platform I go with.
Yea, games come first. Not exactly sure what games people are going to play with on their new GPU. Minecraft? in 16K? 250 gigaflops! Oh My!
@daredevils2k: that's an interesting way to read that. I just read that the Console market is going to shrink by 17.4% due to Nvidia cards alone - let alone whatever thing AMD might bring out to entice people.
And the PC gaming market will grow by at least 35% due to the Nvidia cards alone.
Now - are these numbers accurate? Will people stick to their guns when Sony unveils more info on its prestigious first parties? Probably not. But this poll at face value is a win for PC gaming
That poll has to be false. I was told by Sony fannies that console gamers only game on consoles because of exclusives. With Sony moving 1st party to PC, there is no need for consoles anymore. Why the sudden change in dialogue?
Lmao. Sony hasn't even announced anything yet and PC gamers are suddenly hyped for Playstation games. Gotta love it. All we know is that they are "exploring it".
@regnaston: Peripherals... Want the chair as well?... Shit how about the desk too.
Stop it.
10400/16GB RAM/ 1TB SSD/650w PSU/Case = $533 + RTX 3070 = $1K.
The prices went up for the 3600 which was $170 last week, but once that drops you can grab that with a B550 board for the same price and go AMD for the same system.
The PC can even be $1100 will still beat a PS5 at price to performance at $499 then when you add up 5 years of PS plus its just no contest.
I'd never let graphics determine which platform I go with.

Sure... That's why you will be playing Cyberpunk at 30FPS at 1440P on a PS5.
No idea. LMAO.

Not surprised. But it does tempt me tbh. Especially in combination with the very lackluster launch lineup.

Well you'll could probably match consoles for less than that. The performance of consoles will possibly be closer to the inevitable 3050Ti. They usually cost around £150 - £175. If the 3060 will be close to the 2080, which is exciting for me, because that's the sweet spot for me in price range.
The 3050 Ti is going to be a bit of a monster itself this time around. That's fantastic, the XX50 Ti range is a fantastic place for PC gamers to start, they're going to have a great time. I started on a GTX 750 Ti, and I absolutely LOVED it. This range is usually a lot more formidable than people think.
As for price advantage of consoles, not really, once you start paying for all those service. They build up over time. It's part of the business model that started with the Xbox 360 and only got worse. I think I spent more that gen than any other and I really don't want to know how much I spent.
Then there's the other value of the PC, the freedom to do anything you want on them. For me, that alone makes a PC at twice the cost of a console, more valuable to me, I'm going to be on the fence for a long time thinking about dropping £500 on a console, I wouldn't think twice dropping an £800 budget on a PC I will build.
@HalcyonScarlet: Aren't we all waiting for 3060 and not 3050Ti? We are far off from the low-end GPU such as 3050Ti. We just saw 3070Ti which is still unannounced but the 3060 is a sweet spot for a much cheaper price compare to 3070.
Yes, I am also waiting for the 3060. But I'm excited for the PC as a platform for new PC gamers who will really enjoy what the 3050Ti brings them.

Yeah, no surprise here ... PC as a gaming platform is probably the fifth option for the real world behind Cellphone gaming and maybe Ouya.
I'd never let graphics determine which platform I go with.

You just said a whole bunch of irrelevant nothing. I'm not even speaking for any one side. I mostly play on PC. But choosing a platform for the graphics is shallow, so I can see why some console players wouldn't care about the 3000 cards. Even I'm not interested in upgrading. So many graphics whores here.

1-That is bullshit bulled from deep deep down your buns with no way from you to PROVE it,gaming is not for kids pretty much since sony expanded the market with the Playstation.
2-Even more bullshit because PC don't have teens living with mom who's parents are loaded with money, that is another assumption you pulled from your ass,so dad can buy a damn Rav 4 for its teen but can't buy a damn $2k PC.
3-Yeah again you are just spreading fud because you are a console hater.
That poll has to be false. I was told by Sony fannies that console gamers only game on consoles because of exclusives. With Sony moving 1st party to PC, there is no need for consoles anymore. Why the sudden change in dialogue?

Even more bullshit man you are on a roll today console games buy consoles for the same reason MOST PC GAMERS BUY MID RANGE GPU OR LOWER because there is no need to go over board to get just some more frames or pixels and it is like that on PC as well,so by your argument PC gamers don't have money to buy expensive PC either with what you buy a damn 2080TI you can actually buy a fully working PC that will play all of todays games and still have some money.
Some one feel threaten by consoles, maybe it is your fragile ego the problem.
@regnaston: Peripherals... Want the chair as well?... Shit how about the desk too.

So yeah 3090RTX or nothing that is $1400 GPU alone with those meh components you just threw in,on and i wand a 4k blu-ray drive i don't care if you don't want movies i do.
PS Plus give you games every month, you don't get that with just a $499 GPU on PC which we know will not be $499 as history has show it countless of times.
Today still the 2060 founders edition is $470 the normal one still is $330,those will not co exist they will be replace by more expensive ones.
Your hate for consoles simple blind you judgement, again it must be that fragile ego of yours.
@tormentos:
Its clear you guys don't work in high end positions due to not having money for PC's and your clear lack of comprehending a market and its sales.
PS3 sold how much and cost how much?... PS4 did better because why?... PS2 did better because why?... Why did the Wii sell and the Wii U didn't?...
I swear.
As for your clear ignorance on hardware, The 3070 gives you almost 2x the performance of a PS5 and can be put into a PC with a CPU like a 3600 and 10400 which will out perform those consoles CPU's because those are Zen 2 mobile chips not desktop parts running at 3.5Ghz... Go ahead and look up gaming CPU benchmarks, not to mention that those 8 core mobile chips have 1 core disabled for the OS.
I swear you people can't comprehend a single thing, you live under the impression that you the vocal minority online determine the sales of the consoles... when the reality is you are the minority of those sales.
Just look at Asia and there market... Its a completely closed eco system, try selling them a $500 PS5 compared to a new Nintendo consoles. Games don't mean a thing and the markets aren't gamers only... Why do you think they have adverts with families and spend millions on marketing every year.
I get it though power is cool and hype a console and your 4K HDR and Atmos 2K setups.... But Price don't forget price and the PC has to be 4 times the power to be a option.
You are confused and delusional people its why you suck at things in life and can't afford a PC but claim to be gamer's and just won't admit you can't afford it... I can't afford a Porsche 911, see not so hard.
Bla bla bla. Drivel.
Go ahead and make a new thread talking about the PS5 NVME and how the 10 TFLOPs of the chip at 2.2GHz will change gaming forever with your don't understand s*** walking around ignorant about hardware until new consoles arrive then all of the sudden your a bunch of Tesla's chiming in on things you clearly no s*** about now your attacking me on marketing?... I spent 8 years working for a marketing companies, these consoles are not being sold for core gamers they are using you to market for them its the oldest trick in the book they sell to you to build hype and hope average joe catches on and buys a console its the only way to get 150 million users like a Wii or DS.
Nintendo sold a tablet and the quickest selling games is farming sim... But no your right consoles are SOLD to you!... F***ing Sony is dropping their IP's on PC and Microsoft dropped every exclusive from Xbox... IF your all CORE gamers 110 million PS4 sold their should be atleast 50 million units of God of War sold, not even close budy your a minority... Average COD/Fifa/Fortnite gaming 12 year olds occupy your market.

Just watching this now
He is cheaping out on parts though. SSD is not NVME and only 500GB , RAM is DDR4 not DDR6, 6 Core processor vs 8 Core in both Next Gen Consoles.
He did not price out Keyboard and Mouse and a copy of Windows (unless he is using a Linux Distro which I doubt). If he went cheap KB& Mouse he probably could find them for under $30 but what kind of gaming experience is that?
Windows Home edition is $139
He did not include a Blu-ray drive (which the consoles have) add another $50 for that
He can use a TV for his monitor so I am not worrying about that.
I'd never let graphics determine which platform I go with.

Stahp dumbass living in a made up reality time!...
Sheeeit even the main selling point for the Switch is OMG can't believe I get THIS level of GRAPHICS in a handheld!
Don't care?!... lmao, when?
@Grey_Eyed_Elf: Where is your mouse, Keyboard and Copy of Windows? What about the Blu-ray drive (since the more expensive of the consoles will have them). I could add on other parts that you will need but I wont Nickel and dime you by adding thermal paste, tie wraps for cable management.
6 Core processor on your build vs 8 Core on the next Gen consoles
Like I said a PC will be superior if you spend enough but lets compare apples to apples. Build a PC that can get the same graphical quality as the next Gen consoles will for the price of the next gen consoles... you simply cant do that and most people do not want to spend the $$$ that it costs to build an PC that can out perform them

6 core desktop CPU at 4.3GHz is slower than your 8 core mobile Zen 2 chip at 3.5GHz with 1 core disabled for the OS?...
Sure... That's all I need to know where your level of understanding falls in.
Keep on consoling buddy... Its where you belong, don't worry about those expensive PC's you probably won't ever have the disposable cash to build one.
Its not apples to apples... I can't buy laptop parts for PC.
That 6 core PC with a RTX 3070 will eat your PS5 alive and the price to performance will be higher, if you know how that is even calculated.

A quick search on Amazon showed me an RTX 2060 for $309 and the second cheapest one being $314.

I dont have a PS5 nor do I plan on getting one
The fact is the price to performance ratio is still on the console side, that has been my argument the whole time. I know how PC's work I have been building them for probably longer than you have been alive. I know for the price of a console you are not going to get a capable PC heck for double the price you will get one that is still not close (remember they need software to run so you have to include that in your price as well as your KB and Mouse)
Keep trolling though, you are only making yourself looks ridiculous
