Might as well have bought a ps2 while waiting for more games to come out :? (imo anyway)

Yep, Me too. And Ive had mine since november 22, 2005
Im actually glad sony did delay launch because lets face it, there have been no major issues on the PS3 yet having "rings of death" like symptoms, no overheating problems or anything of that nature.RagingBull2584Your right, the PS3's controller spazzing out, not taking disks and OMG not playing ps3 games?!!
"Teh Link 4 Jo0"Â Â
From that link: "hello everybody, I hooked up my brand new spanking ps3 today and inserted ridge racer 7 and the BD drive appears to be defective. What happens is, that the drive wont accept any disc to be inserted and makes a funny click click "brrrrrbrrr" noise. I have tried inserting a music cd and also no luck. I am hoping that somewhere there is some kind of magical lock i forget to unlock to allow the bd rom to accept discs or something. Once again, the bd rom drive when trying to insert any disc does not accept it and makes a burping clicking noise and the blue light just blicks. Any ideas what might be wrong? I am located in Europe and have a **bleep** system so I take it im pretty screwed. HEEELPP"
A reply:
"There aren't too many defective ps3s. the only two malfunctions I've heard of is the disk feeder not accepting disks & the ps3 not being able to play ps3 games.
"Oh noes!!! A PS3 not being able to play PS3 games?!!
Yet another reply: "Yup you got a defective ps3, call sony"
I just find it ironic how the 360 fanboys are bashing sony for delaying the launch when they are either on their 3rd 360 console after only one year of its release are they are sitting there twittling their thumbs waiting for their 360 to come back from the "repair" shop lol. Ive had my 20 gig PS3 since launch and NOT ONCE have i had any problems whatsoever. Its very reliable and runs like a dream! to bad a majority of 360ers cant say the same.RagingBull2584:lol: PS3's not defective? Oh noes not teh link!!
in some countries, they dont have a choice. Why would anyone buy the inferior 20gb tardpack when the 60gb is so much better?

Plus take into consideration of how many broken 360s were because of user error (ie. not giving it space to ventilate).

I guess I'm just lucky? Nope, I'm just not dumb enough to cover the vent holes or move it across the room while I'm playing a game...

Ive had my 20 gig PS3 since launch and NOT ONCE have i had any problems whatsoever. Its very reliable and runs like a dream! to bad a majority of 360ers cant say the same.RagingBull2584I got a 360 one month after launch and have not ever had to send it in for repairs, and have had no problems. I picked up a PS3 about a month ago and have had no show-stopper problems either. I have about a dozen games for the 360 that I am really digging. I have 2 on the PS3 that I am really digging. At this point in the PS3's cycle I have just about as many games for it that I had for the 360 a year ago at this time. The PS3 was not delayed so they could "get the bugs out". It was not even delayed. It was shipped right on schedule for when Sony said they would ship it. They had no intention at all of releasing the same time MS had in mind. Had they tried to get the bugs out then the darn thing would be able to downscale blu-ray to 720p, and the backwards compatibility graphics issues would not exist. And no the PS3 is not reliable. The bluetooth controllers regularly loose there signal resulting in a 3 second pause in the ability to do anything. This happens once an hour or so and gets really old, especially when the end result is death. The reason there are no "rings of death" issues being spammed all over forums is because hardly anyone is actually playing a PS3 long enough to find such issues. And yes, I do indeed like my PS3 a lot. Mostly because it can play Blu-ray in 1080p just fine, and the potential in the near future looks really good. Many people do not understand why some of us would plunk down $600 for "future potential", but to those of us that can afford it, it makes sense. And honestly I also plunked down that $600 so I could play Resistance while I wait. It's all of these things added together that make it worth the purchase.
