I'm Bailing on Consoles and Getting a NICE PC Gaming Rig

Yeah i'm finally able to use my tax refund this year for a monster PC gaming rig.

Considering that i've been Pro consoles and anti PC all my life this is a big step for me, not to mention i'm even Pro Mac and anti PC, but i can't deny the facts any longer.

PC's have the biggest gaming library...BAR NONE.

PC games are cheaper, especially on Steam.

PC games get all the mods and expansions.

I can configure a 360 controller to a PC if i can't get used to the keyboard / mouse combo.

I've been playing around at some custom build websites and since i have a nice size budget to blow on this rig, the specs will go something like this.

Intel 7 Xeon Quad core Processor

4 TB Hardrive

24 gb Ram

3gb liquid cooled video card

10x Blu-ray rewritable in one bay

DVD Rewritable in the other bay

24-inch wide LCD HD monitor

Wireless backlit keyboard

Wireless laser mouse.

Any better suggetions, i would be happy to hear them otherwise, these specs will resemble the new rig.

Sorry console boys but in specs and game library and price you can't touch this.

I would suggest against using wireless kb/m.

Running out of battery during an online match is the most FFFFFUUUUUU provoking thing in gaming.

and LOL at that RAM. 24GB? unless you're someone who multitasks (and by that i mean run 3D Modelling software while burning Blurays and transcoding audio/video all at the same time), you don't need that RAM size. listening to music while playing games = 4GB tops.

an 8800GTX that cost $800-$1000 4 years ago could not even run **** right now, while my console can still run games at a nice framerate.

You're going to need at least 4 Solid State Drives (about 500GB each), and you're only using 24GB RAM? That's all? You're going to need at least another 12GB if you want to run anything decently.

Also, don't forget to include a large hardron collider. It's essential if you want to make it worth your money.
