No a flop is when a game fails to meet the hype this game was hyped AAA(9.0) and only got AA(8.0) therefore it is a flop.

Say who? HS flopped, end of story. It is still a fun game, but that is not the point. Crackdown=Flop but a fun game. Zelda=Flop but a fun game. All systems have games that flop but it does not mean these games aren't enjoyable.

In the real world, Heavenly Sword is NOT a flop. Scoring AA anywhere but post-hype thread system wars is a great success. The only game in recent memory that I would truly consider a flop (on the PS3) is Lair.musicalmac

Agreed but this isn't the real world this is SW!!! :P I think people should realize that terms like flop and what not are terms of art. In SW, flop has a specific meaning. I still enjoy HS, just wish there was a little more there. It really reminds me of MS. Really liked that game, but it was shallow as well.

I hope everyone can see now (all fanboys) that devs are struggling with expenses v. length of game. Blu-ray is nice but will a dev spend the extra money to fill it up with content? MS and HS say no. It seems that all the PS3 blu-ray has allowed devs to do is not to compress the data. This may change but for now, devs are not spending the extra time and money to fill up a blu-ray disc.

Exactly. I think HS looks really fun. If I had a PS3, I would rent it. My main problem is the main character looks exactly like my wife, ISYN. Minus the red hair, of course. It would be a little weird to play.

people need to remember that flops by system war standards dosent mean the game sucks it just means it hasnt met its hype, so that dosent make a console lineup that bad, STILL i woudnt buy a ps3 for a 9hours game with a 659(total) USD price tag, its just plain stupid. to me it seems you came in here just to bash the 360 sayng it dosent have any good button mashers out there for him.

heavenly sword is going to be awesome. i personally think that its the 1st killer app for the PS3.

Im sorry but a flop doesnt mean it's not a great game, it just didnt meet the hype, heavenly sword, ninja gaiden sigma, resistance fall of man and warhawk are all some very good games the ps3 has, it's starting to get really good, and ratchet, uncharted, haze, ut3 are all some games to look foward to this yeargerard-williams

a 6 hour game with no online is a great game? cows criticized gears for only being 12 hours and it even had online!

both god of war games were 6-9 hours. basically every great game of the past was half of that.

if you base everything you buy/play on system wars then you would live a pretty limited game experience

and add to that the fact that you could buy all 3 systems, own every game ever made, then go on the internet and say "zomg! atari jaguar is the best system ever made!!!! you're all ants lol!~!" then go back to playing whatever

there's a reason god invented demos, so you can try it out yourself instead of relying on a number which only has bearing in one internet forum

Yeah. Replace red hair with shorter black. It's uncanny.

I kind of expected this to get 7.0. Oh well, more great games is better for everyone.

It was said because of the sheer number of cows who choose to ridicule games like Gears of War for being only 8 or 9 hours long and said it was because MS had stuck with DVD's, they continued with the mooing by saying that as PS3 had Blu-Ray games wouldn't be handicap by storage capacity issues... with HS it seems that even given the extra space to store levels the developers have still delivered a hideously short game, and now all cows can do is attempt damage control.
