I'm jumpin ship!!!

The other day my 360 got the E74 error. I called Microsoft and they said I need to pay $120 to fix it. I've been though 5 360's now and all have broken within a year. Now I'm not going to be paying $120 every year to get it fixed so I'm gonna sell all my 360 stuff to gamestop (even the broken 360 for $35). I should be able to get about $100 for all my stuff and I'm putting it all on a PS3!!!!

I can't wait to get it, I'm finally gonna get to play Metal Gear 4, and a bunch of other sweet a** games!!!!

Well, the good thing is you probably played all the great 360 exclusives all these years (GeoW1&2, Halo 3, Fable II, etc.), so that's a plus.

It may be a nice change of pace to go back and dig up 3 years of exclusives for a Wii or PS3 at this point. That should keep you busy.

5 360's!? Maybe you need to go down with the ship again :P Enjoy you're PS3 purchase dude, now couldn't be a more perfect time to get the system, so many epic games released and incoming.

The playstion 3 is a good system. My 2nd xbox just died. If i didnt love halo online so much, i just stick to the playstation 3.

Great news, blog it.

I use my PS3 & 360 for games. Though, I do make use of the XBL party chat feature (along with my friends) while we are playing multi-player on PSN.

I might be also getting a PS3 soon!

Exclusives should be worth the price of the console, it seems.

but honestly the ps3 is a better console. Its way more stable and you can use it as a bluray player. If 360's wouldn't break so much it would be my choice but you can only handle so much before quiting on the system. You are making the right choice no matter what any one says.

I'm at my 5th 360 too :P well cant say anything its a great console but RRoD ruined the good experience so now I'm keeping my 360 to play worthy exclusives only cuz I dont want it to break on me again and keeping all multiplats on PS3 (You should do the same thing just fix your 360 and keep it for exclusives and get a PS3 for multiplats and PS3 exclusives).

I would have sold out of MS and the 360 long ago but im in too deep. Im just gonna give my things to my 2 boys in a few months and get myself a PS3 with incometax in 2010. Im tired of messin with it. I have been through so many that its almost ruined my love of gaming. Next gen MS is out of luck with my money.

I wouldn't have repaired asystem that many times. After about the third time it would be sold ASAP. I will say for me the PS3 has been very reliable. I had it on 24/7 for over two years and it has never has a single hardware problem. Now I just leave it in stand-by with no problems.jimm895

My only regret is not being able to play Mass Effect 2. I got my charater to level 60 for nothing now!!! Oh, well I'll have plenty of good games to keep me busy. Plus God of War 3, and Whatever is it the ICO team is making exclusivly for the PS3.. Can't wait

Out of everyone I know who has owned a 360, only one of them had a single 360 die on them... and they had bought it used a year after it came out. I think the death of people's 360's are highly over-exaggerated on the internet.

I doubt that it is exaggerated at all. My friend and I bought 5 360's (one for each)all of them died except for one. The one that survived is the one least played. I think it is played less than once a week.

As far as I understand, one of my friends bought 2 more. One modded to run pirated copies and one un-modded Elite. All died. So that is total of 6/7 died. I doubt that is exaggeration.

I'm on my sixth 360. If I didn't have a PS3 already, I wouldn't even imagine switching, but to each their own, I suppose.

EDIT: Assuming you've been through 5 360's, that means your current (broken) 360 is probably still under the 3 year warranty. MS has recently included E74 error for that. How is it that they're making you pay for it? I'm not accusing you, just wondering.

you should have switched after the first broken 360
