I'm still waiting for the PS3 to wow me...

Last generation, I owned all 3 consoles. This generation I only have the Xbox 360 so far & little reason to want a Wii, and no reason to want a PS3.

I was planning on waiting for a couple big wow-factor games to come out on the PS3 & then I'd buy one, but it just doesn't look like that's going to happen. I was hoping Motor Storm & Lair would be two of those games, but Motor Storm was far less than spectacular & the Lair gameplay videos make it look rushed & repetitive.

Then to top it off, multi-platform titles are universally better on the 360, which leaves me with no reason to buy a PS3.

What happened Sony? I wanted you to wow me so I'd buy your new console, but that's just not happening.

was that a joke? fight night round 3looks better on the ps3 so does virtua tennis and oblivion AND nba 2k7 and those are just the titles i own that ican state the fact they look better. im sure there is more multiplats that look better too but im not gonna sit here and lie and say they look better. have to see for yourself. which obviously you havent. fan boy

You know what's funny with that statement, it's exactly what I was saying last year at this time with the X360.  The games looked like a nice upgrade to Xbox, but there was no wow factor.  Of course we all know what happened....Aug-Nov last year had the best X360 I've seen todate. 

So learning from this I now will wait to give my opinion on the PS3 until after the 4th qtr........saying PS3 has to wow me now is not being fair to the fact they need time to make games (as did X360 last year)

I'm still waiting for the PS3 to catch up to the 360 feature-wise.  Let me know when every game has custom sountracks, please, because no way in hell do I want to listen to 50 Cent or Fallout Boy. 

 When a 360 game has crappy music, I just throw on some Arctic Monkeys or Fratellis, and that urge to stab my own eardrums out and pour bleach down the bleeding canals suddenly goes away.  The "advanced" PS3 can't do that.

I've done some particular comparisons between the two Fight Night versions, and the PS3 version blows it away. Oblivion is clearly superior on Playstation 3....their only quibble was "no DLC."

Splinter Cell DA is the only one justifiably better on the 360. Let's call it a fluke.

 WAIT MORE?, and no,mass effect almost filled the dvd9 cuz it's a bigger game than any of the ps3 will ever have regardless of the storage space, and cgi isn't important this time since scenes can be done tru engine.

2 games 1 year later, 1 of them only the character models are the highlights since everything else sucks, from the ligthning to the crowds.

Im not even close to wow'd by anything yet, hmm 360 gears of war looks amazing? No not really, if i wanted a slow paced game with sleek textures and no depth, it would be amazing. A 2 year old PC as is today is superior to anything i have seen from any system, oblivion looks good on 360/ps3 sure, but it looked alot more impressive on PC when it first came out. Gears of war? I'd easily take a generic PC shooter with mildy decent graphics, that i can spend 8 hours plus without having to rely on a **** multiplayer and one of the most repetitive scenario's I have ever seen. Oh a broke wall? Perhaps i should hide behind it. Oh a barrel, Perhaps i should hide behind it.WOWZORS

Well then nothing is going to wow you this entire generation. Gears has really already maxed out 360 for visuals. PC in a box hardware gets maxed within a year, Xbox prettymuch proved that. Abnormal hardware like PS2 takes 5 years to fully mature.... the difference between even late year 1 AAA games like Devil May Cry and late gen like DMC3 and GoW is incredible. The first wave of PORTS from 360 to PS3 are on average equal and the year one exclusives are better than anything 360 has. If PS3 turns out anything like PS2, within 2 years there will be a definative difference akin to Xbox vs. PS2.Lazy_Boy88

Not really, in engine graphics these days are perfectly capable of conveying any emotion. If anything it takes me out of the experience because it's jarring to go from CGI quality graphics to in-game graphics.

"Every last bit of memory and processing power is being used to make this game what it is." And that is a direct quote from your own magazine! LOL And to make it worse the same game is on the 360. So how is that for a power comparison of the two systems?

well, GeoW looks good, but the overall visuals are blur, they definitely need to distribute most of performance source to the main 4 characters ... (and the blood effect looks so weird, although it appear in sheer volume ...)
