I'm tired of asinine comments towards Halo.

It's an overhyped game, I'll grant you that, but by no means is it a substandard game.  People seem to inflate minor flaws and slap their own biased opinions on its quality.  I think that anyone who labels Halo as a crappy game is either ignorant or just flat out bitter.  I don't think anyone should give such abusive comments to quality games.  And if you cast aside your adamancy and still think it's bad, then please give a well thought out critique of the game in mention.

The reason is that Halo 3's hype machine appears to have overblown the game, if the Halo 3 MP beta was anything to go by.

You don't have to be a thin-skinned lemmings to be annoyed by the constant Halo bashing. It is by far the most hated game by opposing fanboys on SW.

Here's some justification. Halo CE was a great game, brought new features to the table, and was one of the most well-rounded shooters since Perfect Dark 64. I loved Halo CE, easily one of my top five of last generation.

...and then Halo 2 came around, was a rushed product by the developers own mouth (they say this on the Special Edition DVD no less!), half-baked the feature that made the first one stand out in the sea of shooters, the Campaign, and basicallly turned itself into a "Quake 3 Arena" of the Haloverse, as the only thing worthy of dropping the 50 bucks for was the multiplayer, which wasn't exactly what I'd call "drastically improved" from the first as far as the components itself is concerned, simply made compatible with Xbox Live.

In other words, if you own Halo CE for the computer, you just wasted 50 bucks.

So far, Halo 3 seems to be suffering from the same sequel-itis as the second. I don't want to buy a repackaged Halo 2 with minimal new features (as far as shooters go) and a fresh coat of HD-paint.

Halo is an interesting thing. It's overhyped and underrated. Overhyped by lemmings (many of which wouldn't know better), and underrated by most other fanboys out there, especially cows and hermits.

Halo was an excellent, evolutionary (not particularly revolutionary) game for it's time, and it's co-op is still one of my favorite multiplayer experiences out there.

Ignoring that, the graphics are good already for a mp game, and they're still to be polished and optimized. While I don't think it will make it jump to Gears of War quality, it should bump them to "rather good" or excellent, which should be enough.

I think people who like Halo could live with an 8 or 9 in graphics and a 10 on gameplay.

Yes, but we're in SYSTEM WARS.  I realize that the gameplay is the most important part of a game, but System Wars doesn't.  And since he's asking why SYSTEM WARS isn't taking Halo 3 very well...

It is the best shooter ever. There is no FPS that I have enjoyed more than Halo.
