I am tired of lemmings saying oh the mgs series is far overrated. If it was overrated why would other lemmings be so quick to say oh it's coming to 360. If it is so overrated why would microsoft beg... literally on their knees geting ready to you what to Kojima to make a xbox port. Oh yea remember the time when lemmings said "we don't need bluray, ps3 was just made to help bluray" look at them now lol. Microsoft said they might make a bluray 360 if there consumers want it. Now the lemmings are all saying we want bluray. Oh yea just to bring it out bluray won the format war just do ya research.manystylez
 Yes, because lemmings are the only fanboys that do that....please. Personally, I haven't enjoyed a MGS game since Solid on the PS1, and even though I have a ps3 I have no interest in getting it. The reality is that there is a chance (however small) of MGS coming to the 360. Why? Money.
Let's say that MGS cost 20 million to make. Now, for the sake of argument well say that MGS will sell 3 million copies (which IMO is an overestimation, but I digress). At $60 per game that would equal out to around 180 million. Once you take out publishing costs, manufacturing, royalties, licensing, the cost of BD, you're probably down to around 130 million made. And cows can claim loyatly to the PlayStation brand, but the truth is is that Konami is a business with investors. They could care less about anything but making money.
Now, developers have indicated that porting a game only adds 10% to development fields, so for my example it would be around an extra 2 million. Now, there are around 10 miliion 360's out there. Let's say that the 360 sells 2 million copies for an extra 120 million. It would make sense for them to port it.
In regard to Blu Ray. Personally, I don't feel it's NEEDED this generation, but it is beneficial. I personally could care less that I have to get off the couch once in awhile to change discs. So, that's just my points, I hope you take something from them.
MGS4 Is unbelievable!!!!!111111shift+1=!
Halo and Bioshock are the most overrated games ever!
The cell is great for games! It makes 4D graphics + the 120 FPS!

Huh? Look how Blu-Ray turned out? Did you not see the irony? Blu-Ray wouldn't have won without the PS3...:|
Halo 3 isn't overrated forgot to mention that but to me it didn't really offer anything diff. of halo2 they looked similar

By your logic all games should be multiplat...lol There is such things as favors in the industry...for example, my company has had 7 year long relationship with sony, we decide to make a game PS3 exclusive, in exchange, sony funds our advertising campaign, cuts down on royalties, promises more exposure (since Exclusive games always get more exposure). stuff like that.i[QUOTE="Eddie5vs1"][QUOTE="manystylez"]I am tired of lemmings saying oh the mgs series is far overrated. it don't cost 20 million to make
You have no clue how much games cost to make these days. That's why fewer and fewer developers are willing to take risks on new IP's. Or why so many publishers/developers are consolidating.

I'm not the first person to say this as many developers are saying the same thing. With rising costs of video games, and risk, developers are making money any way they can (look at microtransactions). IMO, it's only a matter of time until all games are multiplat except for 1st party games.

It's starting too, but the amount games following that trend is quite small. Right now, off the top of my head, all I can think of is Enternal Sonata, DMC 4, Lost Planet, and Fallout 3 (moving away from PC to extend to consoles).
[QUOTE="II-FBIsniper-II"][QUOTE="-D3MO-"] By your logic all games should be multiplat...lol -D3MO-Wouldn't that be the best for gamers? As good as 1 console on the market... Not really.
More Multiplats means more options + more competition.
1 console market means less choices + no competition
