to be honest i think that would be so cool if natal worked well with shooters. i saw a video on youtube using that technology (no link sorry) and all u had to do was use your hand to control the gun. I think if microsoft utilizes this tech with the right games, then it will be amazing and sony and nintendo couldn't compete. but thats only with they play their cards right! so wat do u think: will natal be cool with shooters? and/or other game genres?

To aim you pretend to hold a gun To jump you jump To walk you jog on the spot To walk backwards you do the moon walk To shoot you pull the imaginary trigger

I honestly feel that a Wii-mote is a better controller for shooters than Natal can hope to be.

Sure it can control a driving game but those hardly have the most complex control schemes out there.

if it had a wii mote and nun chuk it be perfect. you need something to point at the screen and you need a d-pad/thumsick to move, moving on th spot forward and back is not plausible in small spaces and tiring and annoying after awhile, espeacially on your own. specific commands like reload, duck, melee atack and speacial commands like disarming a bomb or picking someting up could be done by nital

it wouldn't track your finger pulling the trigger. that's just too subtle a movement while your hand is moving as well. also that sounds like an awful way to play. I don't want to actually jump while playing an fps or walk/run in place.

i did and it would suck...sorry but i dont think natal will implement well in core games like shooters or rpgs or action adventures. looks more like its for casuals with the possibility of being used in a racer.

You will never see a full fledged Halo or FPS on the Natal. Never. Just assume im psychic but if theres gonna be a genre defining FPS itll be on the Wii or with PS3s new tech

Project natal is stupid. Nintendo Wii is the only system perfect for motion censor game.

That's all great but try to roleplay a bit and do that for 15 minutes. I strongly suspect shooters would have to go quite a bit easier on you in a Natal enhanced game than one using the classic controllers.

Natal could however make a badass RTS game thats insanely deep and precise. But the market wont be there for that

and lets not forget all the poilticians that would be against that because it would be too realistic

You don't need good graphics to get motion sensor working... :|

hehe that crossed my mind but i figured even devs aren't that stupid.

I personally see that tech being used to the future of "digital personal assistants" and everyday living type things.

I imagine it would look something like this. ( around 1:18 ). Only feeling more like a tool in your own living room.
