Does anyone have any toilet paper to spare? Walmart is out and so is Target. On a separate note...

This new Corona virus has effected us all and that especially goes for the gaming community. Hopefully this will blow over soon but according to projections, it might take a while.

Here's a few topics that we can discuss in the meantime. Please be respectful of each others opinion(s). Remember, we may not see eye to eye on everything but we're all gamers...so have fun!

Is anyone willing to brave the wild to pick up their (physical) copy of Doom Eternal?

I'm not a fan of digi copies so I preordered my copy at a local GameStop. I really want to play this game because Doom 2016 was AMAZING!!! Do you guys think it's worth making a 10 minute trip up the street? Is anyone else braving the wild on Friday? Discuss...

I'm getting doom on PC

Next gen will probably be delayed and im cool with it, did not plan on upgrading soon anyway, I'm sitting on 2 years of backlog, retro games and new.

Series x got sony shook, when i do upgrade my living room console I'm going from ps4 to the sex box. My 360 library and og xbox library is well over 100 games, not to mention ive already been using gamepass on PC. Cross play & cross saves & BC will be sweet.

And im a big halo fan, halo 5 is the only one i skipped because i switched to sony this gen.

I am very much looking forward to infinity, halo and doom are my most anticipated fps games this year.

Topic 1: I'm getting DOOM Eternal on Steam, digitally. I could save me 25 bucks and get it on the Bethesda Launcher instead of Steam, but no thanks.

But I will be braving the wild and get a physical copy of Animal Crossing.

As per topic(s)... Umm... I' add entry #5 - PC hardware

In case i don't die of that Corona crap (it's getting kinda wild in my country), i kind of expect a delay of new CPU's and GPU's. It especially sucks since i have saved up money (~2.5K€) for a major overhaul/almost new build (CPU+MB+RAM+GPU, etc.), and i refuse to upgrade now when new CPU's (not sure if i'll go with Ryzen 4900X or it's Intel counterpart, that depends on value/performance/features/overclocking/TDP...) and GPU's (not gonna go any lower than an RTX 3080) are/were basically literally a few months away...

TL;DR: Thank you, China, for AliExpress, cheap knock-offs and COVID-19.

Take all your physical games, except for the 1-2 you really like, remove their covers from their case and use them as toilet paper.

@louixiii: 1. I have decided to go all digital from this point forward. I never thought I'd say that. But my experiences with the XBox network and my years of still playable purchases there have convinced me it's time to move on from physical games.

I do kind of want to play Doom Eternal, but Idk if I will. That's not currently high on my list of games I want to play now. I have to make up for a lot of lost time.

2. Everything I'm reading in article headlines seems to suggest next-gen will be delayed, at least somewhat. I'm okay with this, since I have plenty of gaming to catch up on, and I'm generally content with this gen's offerings. A year's delay would not bother me, but I doubt it will be that long - maybe a few months later than scheduled.

3. I remember Sony said they're having a difficult time determining the appropriate price range for the PS5.

I recall when the PS3 came out, they were fine with setting a higher price tag on it because they wanted people to view it as an entertainment device "you worked and saved for." They wanted to cultivate that mentality among fans, at least to a degree.

Maybe it's as simple as Sony internally debating about what price is acceptable in today's world? Idk.

4. I don't think Sony will counter Halo Infinite, I think or hope that this game is going to turn out well. But they certainly might have some decent exclusives of their own.

I think Sony is more focused on 2020 than next gen yet. They just got Dreams, and soon TLoU2 and Ghosts of Tsushima will be on the way. In all fairness, it doesn't seem like a bad late batch of exclusives for the PS4.

1. I plan on buying for PC. The download will be quicker than running to the store.
2. I don't think so. China is starting to get back to normal. I think it will take the US longer to recover because of the level of inaction.

I buy my games digitally anyways, no plans change on that end. Waiting for MS to post a rewards for Doom pre-orders so I get my 10% back, I can install early and get Doom 64 with it.

My second job at a theater will be put on hold over emergency measures (I am in the hottest of hot zones in US) so only change to gaming habits is I have more time for it. My online grocery delivery job is safe, if anything, business has been better than ever so I at least have that. I can work a lot of overtime if I want, they're also paying us more to make sure they can meet labor demands, but I'd rather stay home and limit my exposure for now, and enjoy the time off.

I think if next gen console delays happen it'll be less from production, but rather the economic impact, and trying to release a console in a recession where many people won't be working, many will be stresses financially. On Microsoft's end, their exclusives will be playable on current hardware anyways so no need to get a new console right away if money is tight, for me, I'll make it work if they can release on schedule. For Sony, who seems to be on course to deliver a weaker console and is also said to be struggling on price, maybe delaying its release might be better for them.

If anything slows gaming over production, it'll be on software side. Crunch time is already pushing workers at great expense to their health making them not only more likely to get it, but get it worse, and some studios are very populated, horrible conditions to have to work in during a global pandemic, so on that end, maybe game releases will be pushed back, unless developers find ways for people to work from home, they might have to.

You'll have better luck with finding a Sasquatch riding a unicorn wearing an invisible rope with a rabbit's foot dangling from it's neck than finding a roll of 2 ply toilet paper. I'm stuck using wrapping paper from 2 Christmas' ago. Right now my ass cheeks could be used for tree ornaments. The left side has a Rudolph theme and the right side is Frosty....and in the middle is where I freed all of the misfit toys xD

All jokes aside, glad you got a good laugh. I predict a delay too. Luckily Ghost of Tsushima and TLoU2 is right around the corner. That, along with Doom is enough to keep me sane.

That Sexbox got me as well, love the shape of it and also love that there's no more powerbrick, I remember that being one of the reasons I never bought the Xbone.

My reasoning to not get xbone was the always online and the Kinect. The kinect was stupid and made it more expensive than ps4. I think MS has turned it around last few years big time. I love game pass on PC. I love having forza, halo, and gears back in my life.

I play mostly multiplats on my ps4 anyway, ratchet and clank, spiderman were cool, but after i beat them they are dust collectors.
