imo gears of war is the best multiplayer game ever - only answer are good at it

if you have only played gears once or twice the reason you dont like it is you suck at it




as the round starts you run and 3 of your team mates go to the torque bow you decide to go the sniper,before you know it your pinned down you see a life sized locust running towards him you blind fire with the shotty hes gone,blood everywhere,you look down see his body parts

i grab the sniper and i headshot this idiot who is standing still his headpops of he falls to the ground,

i turn round to see a chainsaw going though my body i think WTF dam

the round ends

i speak to the other team for 9 secounds

my point is in gears every gun fight your in is a battle

in cod 4 you run round shooting people its like 2 hit kills from any weapon,just not the same experence

resistance 2 lol 60 plays multiplayer,im sure that will be fun /LOL no battles will take place just mindless killing

GeoW has some major flaws. Host advantage/bullet lag is incredibly evident. However, the game is so much fun(and generally hosts are not unstopable at all) and so refreshing, that i simply can't get enough of it. It's just an incredibly fun experience.

But i see where you're coming from. Round based MP games can be lots of fun, and gears is so gorey that it really makes each kill feel satisfying. However, that doesn't mean other types of online games don't offer some great experiences too, just different ones.

To this day, it's still my multiplayer game of choice.

Balance issues plague Gears of War online. I dislike the idea of a sniper rifle shooting my finger, causing me to fall to the ground gasping for breath, dying. There are very few weapons that aren't instant kills with a single shot, (Hammerburst, pistols, Lancer), and when you use a weapon that actually takes strategy, or you coordinate your attack you are called a "insert-strategy/weapon" whore. Lag issues are there as well, me and my friend were playing on 1 v 1 splitscreen, and he shot the ground behind me and my head asploded :shock:.

Don't tell me I wasn't "good" at Gears of War either, I was top 9000 at one time, not that I'm proud of it.

I'm pretty sure active sniper shots do not down you if they hit you in the hand. In fact, i'm convinced leg shots and arm shots aren't instant downs(but that might just be lag issues making it look like its arm/leg hits).

You mention that there aren't many weapons that can't kill in one shot, but that doesn't mean there aren't some incredibly different weapons in gears. The torque bow, hammer of dawn, grenade tags, and boom shot are all very neat. It's not like there's no skill in getting kills with these weapons.

Oh, any popular online game with chat is plauged by idiots who feel the need to justify why their death was not in any part due to their lack of skill or your skill over them, but that you took advantage of "newb weapons/tactics".

Reason I love Geow there a chance of survival. InCOD4 two shot and your dead, COD4 is a great game but man.. its too realistic.

I disagree. It's fatally flawed due to host advantage. And the cover and move of the single player doesn't translate to the multiplayer; rather, it's just sprint and shotgun.

Your points are completely invalid. Gears of War is an awesome multiplayer game but has alot of problems. Bullet lag, hugehost advantage, so many glitches. 5v5 or 6v6would have been better IMO but I believe the reason why it was decided to be 4v4 was technical limitations.DA_B0MB

A friend of my came over with this 360 one day, and we played some gears and halo3, and we had LAG, i was like wtf? i never had lag before , i have a 3mb connection, and the pc was off so nothing but his 360 was using the internet and we had lag on gears, and then he explained to me that, gears needed a good connecion because of the graphics, i thought he was b***sing me, i play cod4 on my ps3 with 18 players bombs coming out of the sky, etc and i rarely had lag (almost never), i love the single player on gears even i suck at it, but i cant understand why people say that this game has the best mp, host advantage anyone? that its a joke, the worst thing is that i dont see anyone complaining about it.

then we played halo3 and not lag at alll, i had a blast :)

cod 4 sucks , pull out a mini uzi and you get so many easy unfun kills

im level 51 all my friends moved from gears to cod4 for like a mounth now were back at gow and im loving it

The game is like 4 years old lol, and looks a smidgen worse than Gears maxed out, not to mention that you can mod CSS to ridiculous amounts...even put in ridiculously higher res models etc.in

My experience with Geow multiplayer was more than a little disappointing. For the last year I've heard all about how excellent it was, and when I finally got around to playing the PC version online, well, needless to say, I wouldn't describe it as "excellent".agentfred

its the exact same game....

only the PC version looks better and has more content.

Gears has a decent online.

But there are too many negativs such as a max of 4 vs 4, and the fact that there is still lag.
