That would be awesome wouldn't it?  Panzer Dragoon Saga?  Shining Force III?  Fighting Vipers?  NiGHTS Into Dreams?  Fighters Megamix?

Do you guys think this is a possibility later on? And why do you think that Saturn games aren't coming in the first place?

If panzer dragoon saga came out for the VC or XBL I would snatch one up immediately.

It'd be awesome, but the only way to do so is by having either an external HD or SD card to hold the games. I'm not holding my breath on this, but I do have my fingers crossed and am hoping it gets done.

God it would be awesome. I forgot about Radiant Silvergun as well. That would be AWESOME on VC. But are Saturn games any bigger than 64 games?

Saturn games were on CDs. Those are considerably bigger than N64 cartridges. So yeah, the Saturn games are bigger. They can be up to 700 MBs or so. The Wii only has 512 MBs of memory.

Ah, I didn't realize. That explains it then. How unfortunate.

But those games aren't as hard to find, and a few have been ported. Saturn games are significantly more difficult to find, and much more expensive when you do.

They have XBLA and the VC to do that with.

Storage is not an issue, they make SD cards up to 8 GB.

If the 360 can require a propiratary HDD to play content, an option to purchase any brand SD card you like seems more than reasonable.

I don't care about Saturn, it was a bad system. Sure there were games worth playing I guess, but the Dreamcast was the best console I ever owned.

I know I could just go out an buy one, but were talking about VC so that would make it really worthwhile.

That would be awesome.  But I'd like to see Gameboy and Gameboy Color games for the VC, too.  They'd work pretty well, I think.

Those games would take up a lot of space and a while to download. Sega would be much better off re releasing them as a 'classics' compilation on the various consoles.

I'd rather see them splitbetween the VC and XBLA.

If memory serves, some Saturn titles shipped on a proprietary GD-Rom format holding approx 1GB (other shipped on plain CD-Rom,) still, on some titles it was mostly video + sound, hopefully easily compressed. It's funny, I always thought ex-Saturn stuff would come to PSP--it seems a natural for it.

oops, never mind, it was Dreamcast that had those larger disks.

Yes it would, since I never owned a Saturn (or any Sega consoles for that matter).

I'm sure it would work considering it was made to compete with the N64 (which itself, can be downloaded from the VC).

Yeah, why isn't in on there? Does Sega choose or does Nintendo?

Maybe on Nintendo's next console.  I don't know why they didn't put Saturn games on the VC, but I bet it's due in part to simply not having enough time to implement more emulators, and in part to Saturn games taking up more space.

It's not a question of whether or not the Wii could emulate a past system. It's the size of the storage media that's a problem. CD games can be 700+MB most N64 titles were 256mb (32MB) or less.

Isn't Saturn incredibly hard to emulate?

Yes, very. The only way it could really be done properly is like the 360toXbox stuff.....game by game, tweaked + optomized for the emulator. It'll probably never happen due to cost effectiveness. Why not just re-make Saturn classics on Wii or whatever system at full price? (like FF on GBA/DS)
