If I listed "Bioshock" or "Mass Effect" they wouldn't care because they don't know what System Shock is or never played KOTOR/Jade Empire since it never was on a Nintendo system.

With all due respect, I have to say that I don't think Half-Life 2 will sell many systems. Most of those who care about the series either already have it on the PC or will get it on the PC.

Halo3 and GTA 4 will be monstrous though.

The combined sales of SSBB, SMG, BW2 and MP3C will easily trump Halo 3 on the 360. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if SSBB alone outsells Halo 3 in the long run.

GTAIV is multiplat and cannot be used for "ownage" when it is available on one of the systems your are claiming ownage against.

Plus, Wii has Pokemon coming in just another week or two, which although that doesn't sound like a big deal, it is for the millions of people who are willing to buy any game with a Pokemon title slapped onto it.

I'm just doubt that consumer's will ignore the $600 price tag. A lot of people can't even ignore the $400 price tag of the 360.

One of the points of my post is not only the quality of the games, the sales of the games, but the closeness of their releases. This is probably one of the most potent 5, densely packed 5 months of gaming for any video gamer. I dont care if you don't like those games, but you have to at least admit that's a lot of "BIG GUNS" within a one month time frame. (and even more in a five-month time frame) If there is one complaint I have is, I wish Microsoft would've forced the developers to stretch these out more, like release a big game like Halo 3 or Mass Effect in the summertime, so it won't step on the toes of games like GTA4 and others.PhoebusFlows

Metroid comes out in august. The other two are already confirmed to be coming out this year

Are you sure it did? I thought Halo 1 outsold it? Oh well. And I honestly dont even see how is Battalion Wars going to make any dent. Was the original a gigantic success? it's not exactly a big name here, only to Nintendo fans probably. At least Nintendo fans and casuals *know* Halo and GTA even if they dont like it.

That doesn't make sense. Of course if you add up five or so games it will add up. That's not much of a victory. I could say the combined Box Office sales of Matrix 1, Scary Movie 2, War of the Worlds, Gladiator will outperform the Box Office ticket sales of Transformers. Doesn't make sense. As for who will win, I do agree SSB has longer legs, while Halo 3 has the stronger start. But this is going by Halo 2 sales vs. SSB on GCN. I truly believe Halo 3 will outsell Halo 2 easily. The user-base much bigger now.

Well, I did say this post isn't against PS3 in my original post. I am a PS360 person, so let it be made known that whenever you see my posts, it is from the stance of a lemming/cow hybrid. I consider both of those systems to be on my side, so that's why I dont consider it wrong to list GTA 4 (and like I said, my point with this thread is also to show how close big guns are being released within each other, regardless of console)

Hardware sales help, I agree. But so do software sales. Fantastic software sales will improve developer loyalty and insure future strong ties. This is why there was a lot of Gamecube developer abandonment, because of software sales. RE5, why isn't it on Wii again? Sales of RE4 on GCN, or hardware weakness? Pick one of those, I personally pick both.
