I honestly dont see a huge difference with these 2 games. Both are FPS where you run around aimlessley shooting People. When it boils down to it, both games are just Shoot, Die, Respawn and repeat process. People are saying resistance is better than halo and vice versa but aside from a few minor differences, they are both one in the same... The only difference is Halo was there first. and to be quite honest, BOTH games arent that great compared to other great games before it.
Now ofcourse some of them are... but I dunno about comparing halo to resistance. Halo is way more massive than resistance will ever be.

Well, I found Final Fantasy VII boring. Doesn't change the fact that it did leaps and bounds for Final Fantasy and the JRPG genre. Same. I found MGS boring but I recognize it as one of the premier games of last gen and the gen before.
Saying RFOM is the same as Halo means that RFOM didn't really succeed in raising the bar in the genre. Meaning that it is nothing special if its the same as a game that came out last gen 2 years ago. Why play RFOM if I played it 2 years ago on xbox by your logic.
You're talking about halo? the original game that came out many many years ago and was a leep forward in the gaming community and comparing it to resistance and saying they are one in the same? resistance is the only console game to ever have 40 players online at once so i dont really see why halo is more massive
also i think what the thread creator is refering to is that halo and resistance are twicth shooters meaning games that run along the line of quake 3 and unreal compared to ... cant remember the term for it but shooters like counter strike /rainbow six where recoil matters and u die in a few shots

No they arnt the same, what you talked about was a basic FPS type. Its the way the game plays, controls on games like Black stunk, then you have the tight controls on Halo. No comparison. Resistnace was boring imo

Way to generalize there TC! I just wish I'd have gotten here earlier, so I could revel in pointing out just how silly, and broad your statement was. It's like saying all cars are the same because they all have engines, and get you from point A to B via wheels rolling on the ground.
Neither game is about "aimlessly running around shooting people". both games have objectives, both have enemies who put up a fight. did the TC insist only on playing on the easiest difficulties?

I understand all the words he typed, but he used them wrong. There is no such thing as "tangible A.I.". I'm under the impression this man is mistaking tangible for something else.
EDIT: Also, At no point whilst playing Resistance 2 was I even remotely reminded of Halo 3. I was reminded of Gears a bit, because of one of the new types of Chimera that looks peculiarly similar to a locust (in body design, though the face is very distinctly Chimeran, hehe)
I dont see it at all, i mean, they are shooters(the most used genre this days), they are sci-fi theme games (what game is not sci-fi, even Madden could be sci-fi XD), but the essence is what it matters here, Halo is more like and Epic space war across the universe, and Resistance is like the human race pushed to the limits to retain this invasion, then again, there are lots and lots of similar games nowadays, but that doesnt mean they are the same.
