First of all 20 million PSPs sold ins't that bad! Of course it's nothing compared to DS numbers but DSlite is much cheaper.
Second, how do you mean they never droped the price? Are you joking? Here in Europe(Sweden in this case) price is cuted in half looking at how much it costed when it was released and how much is costs now. Also one of tha major reason why PSP wasn't(still not) selling HUGE were games. It's very expensive to develop games for PSP and there were no great games before, now or soon PSP owners will get some great games. Check future realeses.
haha. you psp fanboys are so defensive. Who said 20 million psps sold is bad? i said that the psp was winning, then nintendo made some changes and took the lead, but sony did not follow. I mean, would you rather 20 million psps sold or more psps being sold than ds's each week?First of all 20 million PSPs sold ins't that bad! Yea i have no idea why SONY havent already re-designed the PSP ...
Or atleast give us a price-cut ... just $20 at least ... or $50 would be nice and put the PSP price wise in direct competion with the DS ...

It's going to happend this year. When it comes to redesign, you can see on latest 1up show where Phil Harrison tells something about redesign
they already know they wont be bale to catch up so its useless??? maybe thats whywavebrid
This "race" and "catch up" thing is something that fanboys have invented. It all comes down to how profitable it is. Like PS2 making loads of money, DSlite making a lot of money. Is Sony making money on PSP or are they losing that the real question!?
at this point, I think Sony knows that there is no way for the PSP to beat the DS in sales. Nintendo will keep it's stranglehold on the portable gaming market.
however, compared to other, similar multimedia devices, the PSP is selling great (at least in the US.) I don't think Sony will be changing their strategy with their handheld any time soon.
There really isn't anything to redesign on the PSP....
The DS has pretty much already won though, its outselling the PSP 2:1 in NA and Europe, and about 6:1 in Japan.
because Sony is arrogant.....it happened with the N64 (for Nintendo) and now it's happening with Sony....if you're successfull for too long you take things for granted.....Omni-SlashHow could they redesign it? Its perfect for size, the interface is nice, the only thing I could think of is a secound nub stick, but they couldnt that. Also, let me play my dam music in game.
Arnt sales for the PSP increasing? And id like to know how the DS sales are in America, I dont see people walking around with DSes like back in GB days.coolguy1111than you're in a secluded area....DS sales are huge in the US..... I bump into somone every day carrying one......

I don't know how accurate this site is but I thought I'd link it since it also gives a breakdown of the different regions. I don't think the PSP is doing too badly considering Nintendo have always pretty much owned in the handheld world.

According to that, the PSP hurt Nintendo badly. DS sales are more then half the GBA sales.According to that, the PSP hurt Nintendo badly. According to that, the PSP hurt Nintendo badly. DS sales are more then half the GBA sales. Yet the DS has sold nearly a third of what the PS2 sold in six years. This means it's on track for the same amount of success if sales stay the way they are, and Nintendo having another inevitable price drop will only boost the numbers.[QUOTE="Omni-Slash"]because Sony is arrogant.....it happened with the N64 (for Nintendo) and now it's happening with Sony....if you're successfull for too long you take things for granted.....coolguy1111How could they redesign it? Exactly, l don't want the screen to be smaller and l don't want my hands to closer together so it still feels like a (flatter) pamepad. And there is actually a program to let you play your music in game, but to enable your PSP to run it would also enable it to do bad things, so GS won't let me tell you. Though for this to be officially possible would only require Sony to add it in the next firmware update, l have no idea why they don't just do it.
