I guess I can buy it in around 6-7 years when its down to around 100. Of course, by then, I'll be buying the next gen consoles, so I don't know.
But before that people will be buying Wiis and 360s, meaning more devs make games for them, which means wii and 360 appeal to more people, which means people wont be bothered with PS3.

I might buy one based on games, but I consider the 360 superior to the PS3 and if the 360 has games that counter or equal the PS3's best, then I won't be getting one.
Last Gen -Â Forza was better than GT, Ninja Gaiden / Ninja Gaiden Black were better than DMC3 and GoW, and Splinter Cell CT was better than MGS3, so I felt no real reason to get a PS2.

it makes sense to save up to get a bigger tv, but the problem here is that people can question whether the ps3 is better than the 360. your saying that the ps3 is better than the 360 and the wii in the same way a 32 inch tv is better than a 20inch. Some people prefer the 360 or wii, whereas most people would agree that a 32 inch tv is a lot better than a 20 inch.

It can be fun.. i mean, i have a 360 and have loads of fun with it.. but the games (and those on Ps3) can hardly be called innovative. be real now..

If everyone's gonna have PS3s then everyone will also have 360s and Wiis. The PS3 is the last thing on my mind. The only way I'd buy it is if I had a billion dollars to spend.

I dont know, maybe its because MS is an awesome publisher that knows what gamers want and put money on the line to produce risky idea's that in the end payoff well

That's an ignorant claim at best. The PS3 has a lackluster library of games, and most of which are rehashes or sports games, or updates of Ps2 games. The Wii and 360 brings new content and innovation, sadly, I can't say the same for the PS3. Nothing on the PS3 appeals to me, coupled with the price, there is no way I'd be even tempted to get a PS3. Plus, it's not out yet.
Original? how original is GTA with zombies, another third person adventure title, a third person shooter with aliens, how original, lost planet? wow, didn't that flop? oh yeah, originality at its finest. Gears of War? oh god, don't even get me started. Viva Pokemon? Bioshock? can't say much about it, all i've seen are GCI movies of some guy about to beat a little girl with a wrench, then getting owned by some robot or some such. As great as that sounds, it isn't very revealing. and Alan Wake is another horror/thriller title about vampires and other monsters. See, I can do the same thing, though I'm sure someone with more of a gaming background could do better. When you say "original", please clarify that you mean "Xbox 360 games". Unless I'm arguing with a blind fanboy here, Please tell me if thats the case, then I'll just leave this alone, cause there is no hope. I'm just trying to open your eyes, to see that the 360 isn't the greatest thing since sliced bread, and neither is the PS3. they are just consoles, Both have Original stories, but they are all based on the same old genre's we've seen before. Now, when you're game can CREATE a genre, like MGS created Stealth action shooters, or like how games like Doom, Duke Nukem, and Quake defined FPS, or how Microsoft (i think) invented the "flight simulator", THEN you have my eternal respect, and incredible amounts of kudos for doing something not many people have been able to do. Dont forget L.A Noir and that Naughty Dog game. does it even matter? I'm sure the fanboys will find something "OMG TEH UNORIGINAL" about them. I couldn't care less right about now. This all seems like I'm wasting my time talking to blind fanboys, bent on trying to make "their" system sound like some godsend.
In two years time, when the PS3 is alot cheaper, and has a reasonable library of games, I'll consider getting one. (if I have not already bought a 360 by then to go with the Wii I own right now.)
I'll most likely get a 360 this year around september / october time though, in which case I wount really need a PS3, and my next console purchase after that will probably be the next Nintendo console after the Wii. (Wii2?)

I spend more money on my X360 then a PS3 costs. The main reason I don't want a PS3 is because it lacks games. The only reason to be thinking about getting one is MGS4. And that one is rumoured 2008.
It's a good thing that you put almost in you're thread title because I sure won't get any console for just one game.

By the time this generation is over, I see myself with a Wii, a 360 and a new PC. And a giant library of Wii and PC games [unsure about how big my 360 library is going to be because of the variance on when I will be able ot afford one].
