Wii is the fastest selling console ever in The States! Nicely ahead of where PS2 was at this point after its launch in cumulative sales. The Wii has consistently held a lead over the PS2 - the fastest selling home console in the US - on a monthly basis even with longer shortages than the PS2 had.

After 6 months:
PS2 - 2,455,000
Wii - 2,808,000
*difference - 353,000 (Wii ahead)

I for one have not purchased a new console so far. I am not sure how many friends, or gamers you know that own a Wii[or how many friends you have and how elite they think they are]. Surprisingly(yes..I am very surprised), I know a few that do own a Wii. My friends Luiza and Margo have been gamers for years. Whatever sterotype you would like to come up for the Wii in relations to women then shoot them away. Both have been Zelda fans(which I never knew). Actually, for the longest time I never new Margo played videogames. Then when she brought up Zelda: OoT in relations to TP that's when she spilled the beans. And my friend Rob(who's a electronic freak) own's a PS3, and a Xbox 360. After playing the Wii at our friend Margo's place he picked one up(at a Best Buy that had 24 sitting on the shelf; now down to 9).

I freelance out of a garage with 5 other artists. We play on Live and with the Wii during those blank hours. The Wii is in. And as long as you have people who want to play for a few minutes it'll exist. Don't ask me when I'm getting a new console. Alan Wake, SKATE, and Mass Effect aren't out. The same goes with MGS4 and FFXIII. And like many on the fence with the Wii, I am not sure if it's going to be for me. I do have a PC, but my love for MMORPGs is so beyond this world that I had to quit playing them. rofl

I love how Sheep try to make the Wii-mote sound like the greatest thing in the world. Meanwhile even a simple Baseball game like The Bigs scores lowest out of the consoles. It doesnt solve all problems nor raise every game to some higher level.
