The DS for the west, the PSP for all regions (yeah, I changed my opinion).
Backing up my reasons..
Not much of the PSP games in the west interest me, on the DS though there are a lot of good JRPGs that are being released. In all regions the PSP has great JRPGs and Visual Novels, so I'd have to hand it to the PSP overall.
i have never owend or played a psp so i cant judge it however i am getting a bit sick of the 2d'ish games and the stylus and the psp has some already great games and is getting a storm of games coming soon (mgs:PW , resident evil , gt etc...) campzor
so what did you vote?

psp , the ds is a great handheld but the games on the psp look more appealing to me.I prefer the Nintendo DS more because of the gaming library it has over the PSP and the number of great games that appeal to my taste more. It also help that the Nintendo DS was at a cheaper price during launch.:P
I hate hand held game consoles. But if I had to choose, it would be the PSP
baboy_baka
No wonder you hate handheld consoles. You picked the one where good games are few and far between and has a short life off of the charging cord.
I'm going to pick up a DSi or a PSP Go for my commute, I'm sick of reading books. Which one has better non-RPG games?wstfldGames aside, I'd strongly recomment a DS Lite or a PSP 3000. Both are cheaper and offer in essence the same (and arguably better) value than the i and Go.
Can this 4 to 5 year, war of questioning stop? Seriously, this battle is over Nintendo did it again, asking as if the PSP will come back us useless. Nintendo could cut and run, and go right into a next gen handheld leaving Sony in the dust right now, but with DS Lite and DSi selling so good they aren't doing so any time soon. They'll do it by 2011 or 2012 by choice and while Sony is still trying to get a good deal of sales off of PSP, Nintendo will realease a new hand held which will be a graphicallly strong new DS will greater screens.
[QUOTE="Zaibach"]I'm a grown man.IronBassAnd that has what to do with this thread? Even grown men can enjoy the awesomeness that is the DS ;)
Actually I see more kids playing PSP, while I see more adults(mostly hipsters) playing DS for side scrollers mostly. With kids it;s the allure, of it looking adult and PSP is associated with that. I own both, so I really don't care, but PSP get's no play, I think I'm going to sell it to power gamer.I have a white a PSP...I'm a grown man.

Asking that the month M&L:BIS came out is kinda redundant. :PIronBass
And Scribblenauts.
I think the DS has the better library overall, but I like my PSP more. More games I'm interested in, better graphics and the ability to play movies and music.
But as always, it's great to have both!
Even grown men can enjoy the awesomeness that is the DS ;)siLVURcrossOf course you do, especially if somebody plays the kind of games you play :P Now, on a serious note, you know, from all arguments of SW, the one that annoys the most is that one. The "I only play mature games for mature hardcore gamers such as myself". Gaming has proved for years that a game's quality does not depend of it being "kiddy" or not. Hell, even with movies. Last year's Wall-E and this year's Up two of the movies that have had a terrific recepion among the "mature" (18+) crowd. I really don't understand why somebody would bring that to the discussion.
what ever you want it to do.ZaibachI don't want anything. You are the one that brought something that seems totally offtopic, not me. As that, you are the one that should explain it, not me.

What is localized to your area is not the trend that is followed, I'm not ragging on the ds, am sure its fun for everyone But I woudnt be caught playing one in university...I have a white a PSP...I'm a grown man.

I'm not going to dis credit you, but yeah... I see PSP's but mostly with teens and kids, a lot of DS's are carried by 20 somethings.[QUOTE="DazedDarkness"][QUOTE="Zaibach"]

ok the nintendo ds and the psp. I think the psp is better at certain things, whereas the ds excells at games however these games have a tendancy to childish and thats not a bad thing, its the market they are going for....its just not for someone ( 20 -25 yr old male) like me in or just out of university.

be satisfiedZaibachActually I am. It's a lot better to read a well-thought and explained argument than the almost-trollish "I'm a grown man".

This is one word that's thrown around, usually at the Wii and DS, and I still have no idea what it really means. Does this mean the DS has mostly games invovling My Little Pony and the Carebears? I don't see it.
Games like Mario and Luigi, Starfy etc may have bright, colorful graphics, but I don't see them as childish. Not every game is going to be Chinatown Wars.

I found them both equally (and I love them both)
The DS has a huge library (par with the PS2 or even more!) and lots of special and memorable games come along with it (Scribblenauts, Phoenix Wright, TWEWY, Nintendogs, New Mario Bros, Cooking Mama, DQ games that were never translated in other consoles, etc.).
PSP has a good library (not as big) but the games and upcoming games are loaded with quality and great promising games(such as Tales of Eternia, KH:BbS, 3rd Birthday Parasite Eve, Final Fantasy Agito XIII, Persona Portables, Valkyria Chronicles 2), not to mention the PSN, the PS1 games (FFVII, MGS, RE, Silent Hill, Suikoden) and its interconnectivity with the PS3.

I thought the reason was implied. I know this is SW and but not everyone who disagrees with another's point of view is try to troll. I never meant any disrepect to anyone who has never deserved it.
Ds has the better library by far so I'll go with that.
Although the psp does have monster hunter...so I guess it has it's place.
DS = better games and intuitive gameplay
PSP = Mulity functional
so the psp has 1 flaw, it should be a phone not a gaming system
