You've been saying that for a while now. It wasn't funny the first time, it's certainly not funnier the 57th time.

The true hardcore gamers are the ones that bash the Wii all the time. What real gamer has the time that piece of junk when they could be playing Shooter 23 and Driving Game 17?

It's true that hardcore players come from every genre, but the highest concentration of hardcore players is found in MMORPGs IMO. That is followed by RTS, FPS, and even music games like Guitar Hero.

I think a gamer just plays what ever he or she likes.

To me Metal Gear Solid, Half Life, Bioware RPGS, Bungie Shooters/Halo. Grand Theft Auto, Metroid, Zelda, Mario, Final Fantasy, etc are system sellers.

I am looking forward to games like Banjo, Too Human, and Fable 2.

Tales of Vesperia and Tales of Symphonia 2

The next Stalker, the next game from cryteck, the next game from valve.

If we have to narrow it down to a genre, id say RTS.

I don't like these games at all, but you have be a hardcore gamer to pretty much enjoy these games.

I would say how much they love games, not the physical time spent playing them.

Attract new hardcore gamers, or attract the hardcore gamers from one platform to another?

Their devotion to gaming as a hobby.

How much they gameHarlockJC

Incorrect. A "casual" gamer who only plays Madden could play Madden for eight hours a day and still be a "casual" by definition while a "hardcore" who plays a lot of different games on different systems from different time periods for only two hours a week would still be "hardcore" by definition.

A "hardcore" gamer is someone who devotes a lot of their budget to the hobby and is "in-the-know" about the games they play while a "casual" gamer doesn't spend much on the hobby (one platform with one or two games) and doesn't know much about gaming in general beyond the games they like to play.

A "casual" gamer can play "hardcore" games and enjoy them and a "hardcore" gamer can play "casual" games and enjoy them. Games do not define the gamer.

Western RPGs, seriously though, you get a lot of hardcore games for every genre. I'm not picky.

A hardcore gamer is going to be someone who might not enjoy every single genre, but sees how others can and respects their opinion.
