Remember that MS has openly said that it will try to use madden 08 to sell some 360's and it seems that gamespot has decided to help them.Anyone else notice that the madden 08 launch center on the main page is a xbox 360 feature:shock:.I mean it's ok to have previews for multiplats as saying it on the platform on which it was previewed.

But is madden only coming for the xbox 360:|,i mean it is a multi-multi platform game.Surely gamespot should put under the madden feature just "feature" and not "xbox 360 feature":|:|

They do the same thing with games like Bioshock. You'd think this game is only coming for the 360. They headline the 360 version first, etc.

Sad really, considering this game has some roots and similarity with System Shock 2, one of the greatest PC games ever.

I don't know if Gamespot is still doing this, but I think they did try to do something like "effecting the game score". For PC reviews, they were or are considering system specs as a criteria in the score. That is freakin' pathetic.

I can see it now, "Bioshock on the 360 scored a 9.8. For the PC, the game scores a 9.0 because on the System Requirements list, you need a PC that is less than a year old."

Really? Wow. I played half life 2 on lowish settings and it was basically the same experiance when I got a much better graphics card.

Yes, because we all love buying a game, then finding out it runs like a sloth on our PCs. Oh, but you have a powerful PC, so you don't need to worry about system requirements. That PC only cost you a few thousand dollars, so there is noting to complain about :|

You can build a decent gaming PC for under $1500 which is about the price of a 360 or PS3 plus a mediocre HDTV. Infact the only reason I haven't began construction on my new rig yet is because I just got back from a half a month in China and I'm a little low on cash.

So, what you just said is, "games that progress technically, and hence push the gaming experience towards and past modernity, should be punished scorewise."

Nice!

You definately are a console gamer stuck with the same hardware for 4-5 years. No wonder little progress has been made in video gaming since Microsoft introduced the Xbox. As Microsoft funnels development rights away from the PC and onto their Xbox, gaming stagnates because of a closed system that doesn't evolve.

I love good graphics. What I don't like is the fact that I have to upgrade my PC every 6 months just to play these games in the first place. As a consumer, I don't want to empty out my wallet just to be able to play a game.

Hardware and software both improve over time. I just wish that hardware will improve FASTER than software. I loved PC gaming since I was a kid playing Doom, but all these system requiements I have to worry about makes me want to pull my hair out.

Of course there isn't anything to complain about. Which idiot buys a PC game without checking the specs which are required to run the game on the back? Why should gamespot take off points for a game with high specs? The consumers should inform themselves when buying a PC game.

U cant help it, because this site is ran by lemmings, and gamespot are full of lemmings aswell. I mean seems like every major news like the one with the xbox 360 on the morning show, u never see gamespot put it on there but as soon as anything with sony has to make the ps3 look bad they are quick to post it.

Same thing with the game ratings, they favor xbox 360 games over ps3 games, and u know this from the ratings of PDZ and Resistance fall of man. Right now they are doing a better job then they did before, but for the first 5 months of the ps3's launch they clearly showed by there ratings of games that they had something against the ps3. Funny thing is they use to go on and on about how ps3 games didnt look good as xbox 360 games and never brang up anything about how they were ports and how bad the xbox 360 hardware. I got nuttin against gamespot but they do seem to favor xbox 360 games over ps3 and wii games, but none the less, they seem to have kind of backed off ever since sony has been showing off some awesome new IP's and stuff. I cant wait for 2008, when sony starts bringing in all the big hitters.

No no, don't use that logic here! Put it away. Clearly gamespot has some deep dark secret and there being payed by Bill Gates.

And you do have a valid complaint, in my opinion. You sound responsible and check to make sure you can run the game. PC gaming is fairly expensive up front. Asa hermit, and a PC gamer, I can admit that. Not everyone has the resources to have a computer of XXXXX amount of power. And there is nothing wrong with that.

But I also feel that developers shouldn't be deduced scoring points if their game requires higher than average requirements to run smoothly. I guess that is just my opinion too.

It doesn't say it only on the 360 but the other systems are pretty much footnotes, and has the 360 logo at the end (haven't seen it for the other systems). Maybe Peter Moore has something to do with it.

First off, the reason the Madden features link to the 360 page is that the 360 is the lead platform, same with Bioshock. Its not a conspiracy so all you guys saying MS and GS are in cahoots can go and put away your tin foil hats. Also MS has been helping advertise Madden (as part of their Big Three promotion of Halo 3, Madden and GTA4), so its logical that EA would return the favour by focusing on the 360 in their commercials.

And system requirements are only taken into account when they are high or unnecessarily high. Chances are GS has some pretty good PCs kicking around, so if they notice problems playing it on one of their rigs I can completely understand why they would dock a game points. If GS is having problems with the games requirements chances are the average PC gamer is going to have problems too.

You don't necessarily need to buy a new computer. Anyway, what's so bad about getting some old PC games? Many of the PC's greatest games are actually from the past and most certainly will run on your computer. Nostalgia ftw!
