Over the past few months, i've seen a lot of Indie game bashing going on. Mainly from the "PS4 has no games" lot who insist indie games are not "real" games.... stupid i know
However with No Man's Sky on its way, can we maybe change our minds a little?
Most (sane) people agree NMS will be somthing special, but as we all know its how the game world is generated that makes it special.. it truely has the potential to change how games are made. With enough "constraints" as Hello Games puts it, you can do pretty much anything. Imagine being able to produce the entirity of the USA or even the world in super levels of detail, all done by an algorythem that predicts what you should be looking at based on little information, and creating that out of nothing but a colour palet, and a general idea of shape. Storage Capacity issues which hindered such games in the past will no longer be an issue and the posibilities are litterally.... endless.
If Hello Games pulls this off right, and the technology is proven, it could very well become the new norm for game design and launch us truely into the next gen of gaming.
All this from a little Indie Company ... but hey... they aint real games right?
