apparently ms is going to talk about the future of indie games and devs in the future because microsoft has become passionate about the indie market.

in other news, santa claus has been spotted riding a unicorn with the tooth fairy in a purple sky.

Yeah. They are so passionate about indie games that they really only paid attention to ones that would bring in major bucks like minecraft which since has long since not been considered indie. When you have toys on shelves in toy stores, tshirts at hot topic, figures on amazon, sold millions and millions of copies of your game at 30 bucks a pop and have retail releases of your game you arent indie anymore.

It wasnt until sony started a division strictly meant to support indie devs, started waving small patch fees for indie devs, practially giving away ps4 dev kits to indies, giving them their own store on PSN, and then announced indie devs could self publish on PSN that microsoft stood up and said "Hey we love indies also! See, we matter!"

Just another round of catch up is all.

Yeah let's completely ignore the summer of arcade that's been going on since 2008. Yes Sony are better with indies NOW but MS had a great relationship with them back when Sony was barely even touching that sort of stuff.

So you just started following the industry this year?

Microsoft has been supporting small indie studios for the last decade.

There was Summer of Arcade, and don't forget XBLIG (Indie Games) which has over 2500? self-published indie titles on it.

It's amazing how people seem to forget that MS opened the doors for indie game makers on the consoles with XBLA.

That said, I think that Sony in the long run, has done a better job at picking better quality smaller budget titles on PSN, but people really shouldn't act like this is some new shit goin' down.

obviously merging of the windows 8 app platform to xbox is what is taking so much time.   YOu can develop for the both of them and its almost synomus with each other.    Its gonna be pretty awesome and I think will be the go to indie platform once again, afterall, didnt SONY say Indies dont matter in the 1st Place.   KNow your history before you troll on Microsoft so hard

Microsoft seems to have completely changed their stance though.

They were great back in 2007-2011, but after that not so much.
