Infamous copied Prototype!!!!!

Sony and Sucker Punch copied Prototype. It just proves that Sony has to copy anougher developers idea and try to pull it off as there own and to kepep gamers playing the PS3. Microsoft and Radical/Activision should sue both Sony and Sucker Punch cause Infamous is identicle to Prototype in every way minus the Gore. What Sucker Punch and sony cant come up with there own idea for a game so they have to copy anougher developers? This is total BS. Well anyway Prototype will sell better than Infamous that is for sure. Shame on you Sony. I just think thatwhat Sony did was really cheap. If I was a developer I would never allow some other company to copy my idea. What do you guys think and you reviewers and media feel free to chip in your 2 cents on this matter?

and both games copy of a game I made years ago called Eve0, it was pretty basic and all using top down view 3d city and stuff but you could still fly around and blow **** up.

Ultraking your really dont play excellent games if you think prototype is going to flop. When Prototype comes out nobody will play GTA IV anymore. Prototype will geta 9/10 you can count on that. Infamous just doesnt look all that good it has no Gore and Blood in it so Im sticking with Prototype. We will have to see what game gets the higher score.

Prototype is more appealing to me..InFamous reminds me of SW the Force Unleash..and i didn't like that game..

super hero free roaming games have been out for ages now, you must a small mind to think that prototype was ripped off.

the only similarities are that they are both sandbox games and you play as a guy with super powers in both of them.

the story and gameplay look completely different so im not sure why they keep getting compared.

First InFamous was announced way before Prototype was. Infamous has also been in development longer and it is coming out before Prototype, so according to your logic how did it "copied"

Second, Prototype is not exclusive to the 360, sorry to tell you that. Lemmings get it in your head that Prototype is also coming to the PS3.

Third, this is pointless for people who own PS3s because they get to play them both.

Spiderman is an enhanced human...from a gameplay perspective, there is no difference.

But since you said Crackdown was the first game with an enhanced human Police Officer in a sandbox environment...that's fine.

Speaking of that, Prototype and InFAMOUS are more like SuperHero Sandbox games.

Infact, they are more like the Spiderman and Hulk Sandbox games.

You know, it's much easier just to give the credit to GTA3, which is what I wanted in the first place.

There has already been alot of sandbox superhero games, so stop saying it copied Crackdown, which was basically a game where you shoot people with guns. You dont shoot people with guns in InFamous or Prototype but instead have superhero traits.

List of superhero sandbox games I can think at the top of my head.

Spiderman series, Superman 64, Superman Returns, Iron Man, Hulk Ultimate Destruction. So this genre is nothing new and Crackdown did not invent it.

GTA3? maybe, and thats becuase it was the first open 3d world thing, and before GTA3, there were open 2D world, all Rockstar did was make the transition from 2D to 3D. but I understand why someone would say it copied GTA3.

but Crackdown, Spiderman, Hulk? lol, none of those games were first of its kind. last but not least, it does not matter who copies who? everyone copies, all that matters that it is a good game.

infamous has been in development since 6 months after the ps3 released, you really think prototype was known outside it's dev team then? it probably didn't exist. and they're both crackdown anyway.

As some people have previously mentioned, Prototype is also coming to the PS3... This is the worst flamebait ever.

Prototype was in development before inFAMOUS.

Anyways, they're completely different sandbox superhero games. Both are worth buying. Why complain about getting 2 extremely awesome games?

Someone doesn't know what they're talking about.

Just because people love to compare them so much doesn't mean they're the same!
- Prototype focuses around melee combat (although it does include other things) whilst inFAMOUS is more about electrical 'shooting'.
- In Prototype you can glide around and jump insane distances, whilst in inFAMOUS you basically are a dude with good parkour skills (a la Assassin's Creed) and electrical powers.
- In Prototype, as described by Eric Holmes (Lead Designer) is for people who are ""******** of the highest order" whilst in inFAMOUS you can choose to be good or evil.
- In inFAMOUS there is way greater focus on the decisions you make and how they affect your character and the way people react to you.
- Prototype features posession of people, which inFAMOUS does not - at all.
- Prototype features the usage of vehicles, which inFAMOUS does not - at all.
- Prototype features the web of intrigue, which as far as I know, inFAMOUS does not - at all.
- There are many other differences that will become more apparent when they are released.

The fact that inFAMOUS will be released first does not prove that Prototype copied inFAMOUS as it is difficult to say when the design stages began for either game...

YES - they are both open world games where you have superpowers, but lets not pretend they're the first game of that kind ;)

They have their similarities, and I don't care which you prefer (although I'm guessing that you don't own a PS3), but don't pretend that one copied the other.
