Saint's Row and Crackdown were both successful GTA clones. Give other games taking a crack at the genre a chance!Sooshy
I dont think saints row even broke a million sales and Crackdown was awful game but had good sales due to halo 3 beta. Wow crackdown was bad

I had a lot of fun with Crackdown. :) Saint's Row did break a million, if Wikipedia is to be believed.Im sorry but this game has flop written all over it.. every other sandbox game that wasnt GTA has flopped and not did so well at all, after reading the Game informer cover story it just seems like its a third person sandbox bioshock.. The concept looks cool and the Devs that made the sly series are good devs but Infamous just looks like one of those games that will fall short and flop big time.. I really hope this game doesnt get hyped like the second coming because I admit that PS3 games tend to get overhyped as the second coming and end up failing bad.. Hence Heavenly sword.. How that game scored a 8.0 here is beyond me, but anyway yea Infamous definitley looks very dullHaloJim79
heavnly sword was great the only thing keepin it from a 9 is length thats how good it was sorry

Maybe Infamous will suck but I will still try it out because it looks interesting.

Heavenly sword could of been so much more. I will say the physics and graphics where amazing, boss fights very unoriginal, very short story with no replay value.. I just dont understand how Heavenly sword and uncharted scored a 8.0 when uncharted easily deserved a 8.5 and HS deserved no more than a 7.5 at best
I think infamous wil lbe a decent game. 8.0 at highest. I predicting the following flaws; -frame rate problem at times, -story is meh! - repetative - lack of different enemies. But im hoping im wrong though, id rather see a trailer and here some more info first. imapieceofwood
Same here. My hopes are still high.

TBH thats the only problem I had with the game. That and enemy variation. Also other open world games have done well besides gta. So I have no fear. Saints row was good, crackdown was good and hell even spider man 2 was good.

its a hack and slash game no game in the genre has original boss fights though i agree with you uncharted deserved higher, i also believe if u add 2-3 hours of game play to heavenly sword it also deserved a 9

What are you talking about? It sounds awesome. You have moral choices like Mass Effect and the citizens react to you based on your actions. It all sounds great. And it is 2008. It comes out 2009.
looks cool.
as for heavenly sword and uncharted both great games. both should been slightly longer, but uncharted has a ton of replay value .
it probably will. i've completely lsot faith in sucker punch after they ruined the sly series with band of thieves. dissonantblackAhhh, I thought they really brought it back with Sly 3 myself. Don't let the second one stop you from playing the last. Anywho, I'm quietly interested in Infamous and really want it to do well.
It looks just as special as Saint's Row/Crackdown...
So really, nothing special at all. Might come out and totally surprise us though. I think it'll be alright, nothing great, nothing too bad.

Umm... Crackdown was the most fun I've ever had in a Sandbox game. I don't like Sandbox games but getting agility orbs was really fun.Are you joking? Infamous looks better than GTA !!!!! j/k
I agree with sooshy, give it a chance, Im not hyping it AAA3Z!!!! But I have good expectations.
After reading the GameInformer preview I must say that game has too good to be true written all over it. ANd in the gaming industry if it sounds too good to be true it isn't. Ket87
Yeah, the Alone in the Dark reviews are really showing this.
This is also why I'm reluctant to hype Sonic Unleshed.

It's a Crackdown wannabe. So if it copied whatever there was in Crackdown that made it fun like collecting orbs, then yeah it can be fun. But what Crackdown lack was variety of missions. So if Infamous lacks variety, then yes, it wouldn't be a suprise if it flops
.
Wasn't Crackdown a GTA wannabe? What about Saint's Row? I remember a certain game called The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction and it did very well even with GTA out on the market. As long as Sucker Punch does the gameplay right, makes the framerate smooth as butter, and doesn't overhype the living crap out of it like a certain developer did *glances at Free Radical* then we could have a nice AA game to play. Also it needs to come out before Prototype or else it won't survive. It's a Crackdown wannabe.
