Infinity Ward: PC Call of Duty Will Look Better Than Next-Gen One

Of all the skews of Call of Duty: Ghosts, the PC version will be the prettiest. Infinity Wards executive producer Mark Rubin told Kotaku that "Now, PC has its own set of assets" instead of simply running the same build as on the consoles. "It's going to look better than any Call of Duty we've ever made on PC."

In previous years the PC version of Call of Duty would be largely the same as the consoles. It often differed in features that were missing - split-screen and Call of Duty Elite come to mind. With Call of Duty: Ghosts were finally having a version of the game which recognises something of the potential our machines have over the consoles.

Call of Duty: Ghosts is releasing across both the current generation of consoles and the next. That we will be seeing an enhanced version released on the PC says something about the actual power of these new consoles. "[Were] actually using an even higher version in many cases than the next-gen consoles, from a texture standpoint," Rubin said.

Dont really care, getting it on PS4 :)

I'm pretty sure that's to be expected.

But I don't understand. The xbox ONE was supposed to carry a 9 TF GPU... It's supposed to be stronger than 99% of the most powerful gaming PCs on the market... MisterXMedia told me so. :cry:

Lots of games have higher quality assets and more advanced graphical features on PC than on consoles, but the fact that this is happening at the very beginning of a new generation is very telling. Xbox 360 and PS3 had greater performance relative to high end PCs at the time of their launches than the PS4 and XB1 do relative to high end PCs of today.

i'm sure all 30K PC players will be happy

Might buy a $1500 rig to play this game maxed out

Comming back to the "mother platform" after selling-out to the consoles, eh? ;)

I'd be more interested in a CoD 1 remake with modern graphics than Ghosts looking better.

Whats next, a headline about how battlefield 4 will look better on the PS4 than the PS2?

A PC is more powerful, this isnt exactly theoretical physics here. Its not hard to figure out.

But in the end it will only look better for maybe 15% of PC gamers since the vast majority have lower end video cards.
