I personally think its time for Insomniac to move on and make a new IP. I just hope they don't sell the franchise and let it be ruined like Spyro. I know many of you whiners out there will be happy about this news also.

So, Insomniac retiring it could mean that SONY puts another developer on it...HOWEVER, Sony has a great partner in Insomniac, so I'm sure they will just let Insomniac do whatever, and Sony will respect that.

THIS NEW RATCHET Retail PS3 GAME (the Second Ratchet Retail PS3 game this generation) looks absolutely phenominal. If this is the last Ratchet (for awhile), the series is going out with what looks like a bang.

The previous 1st PS3 Ratchet game came out in 2007, and it was acknowledged by most sites/mags as a AAA, 9.0 super great game. Unfortunately, here at GS it was just a ratty ol' 7.5.

Still, I look forward to the PS3's Second full retail Ratchet game, it's been Two years since the last Ratchet Retail Game after all!

He says if CiT does well there will be a sequel in a couple of years. How is that hinting at the end?

It doesnt need to end. But i think they should give it a rest till next gen. A launch title R&C would be amazing.

I LOVE the R+C series but I do think that ACiT should be the last one, at least until PS4 or something. I expect (and hope)that after Resistance 3 we'll see them work on a new IP.

Part of me is like :cry: at the thought of no more R&C.

Another part of me is like :D at the thought of an Insomniac new IP.

I was just thinking about this the other day. I'd say it's best for Ratchet to go into hibernation. Insomniac should just give the series some time off rather than ending it. In fact, it would be nice if devs like Insomniac and Naughty Dog gave their IPs a generation off and then brought them back with a bang rather than milking them.

I agree with you regarding Resistance. I personally think that we have plenty of FPS's without Insomniac jumping in. I would love it if they came up with a new platforming game, its what they're best at.

I thought they were gonna finish and give it to another developer after Ratchet and Clank 3 but then they made Ratchet Deadlocked and Tools of Destruction. They might end Ratchet and Clank. If A Crack in Time scores well or sells well they shall continue and I hope they do all the games are great apart from Quest for Booty.

Actually its been 7 games, if you ignore the small downloadable title then its 6 games.

The series has had a good run, another game or two and I would be content with the series finishing up, provided they do it right of course.

R&C is a very strong and fun franchise

I will be very upset if ACiT is their last game and Ill tell you why: they need a multiplayer component.

I really do hope they make one more R&C that will not only wrap up the series, but will include a strong MP component like Up Your Arsenal did-- UYA was such a great game-- great story, and great Multiplayer.

Ive been wanting some R&C multiplayer, it was very fun

Surprisingly I enjoyed more the upcoming Ratchet and Clank:Future demo than both Uncharted2 and Killzone2!!

Ratchet and Clank is a pretty stale franchise. Why is it that every game Insomniac makes is never a very memorable experience for me?

i respect insomniac so if they decide to put R&C series to rest and move on to a new IP, i'll surely support them.. But as others said i hope it will be another action/platform title (series)with memorable characters..
