The media tried its best to promote the 360 and bash the other systems but the mainstream still hasnt made the 360 thier choice.

I could find several articles from the Washington Post and Ny times and USA today trying hard to promote the 360
If you can, why didn't you? And how does that prove its going down?

If they are avoiding the 360 like a plague.. what are they avoiding the PS3 like?
Like how a fanboy avoids logic.

Halo 3 is system seller , the only problem is people didnt wait to buy a 360 until Halo 3. everyone who wanted halo 3 bought a xbox360 at launch. the release dateof halo 3 will not bring about new 360 sales .
um... no... Most of my friends are buying one when Halo 3 comes out.

Agreed I know a few people that will buy the 360 when the games they want comes out. Hell Im gonna buy a ps3 when the new socom comes out but I dont see a point until then.
I bought one two weeks ago. The gta 4 and halo 3 combo wouldve helped sales,(the main reason I bought the console)but oh well
there are many reasons to own a 360 this season. I guess I'll just have to be satisfied with Madden 08, Halo 3, Mass Effect, Half- Life Orange Box, Call of Duty 4, NBA 2K8, Splinter Cell Conviction, Assasin's Creed and Bioshock all on the 360 this christmas season and the other games I picked up when I bought the system Gears, Graw 2, R6 Vegas and Saints Row.:D

Not all fanboys are illogical...
I haven't met one here that wasn't
So this is your reasoning of how the 360 is going down...Games make a console, not the media.Brettheman12
Yeah that's why the Dreamcast won last gen, right? Doesn't matter how awesome the games are or how good the fanboys think it is..... if it doesn't catch on in the mainstream it will fail. 360 has prettymuch stalled at this point. If sales don't magically skyrocket for Halo3 (they won't... all the Halo fans already own a 360) then it's going nowhere. It has the games, but still isn't selling. PS3 is selling at the same rate, yet has none of the games people are looking forward too and the price is still high. The Wii is selling because of the Wiimote, nothing else.
sink like the xbox did? from not existing one gen to being #2 the next, and #1 the gen after that. hell if it is "sinking" to top i'm sure microsoft is all for that. climbing, sinking, what ever, as long as they get to the top. out of curiousity i have to know. is the ps3 rising / climbing to the bottom / last place the other half of your theory?I have news for you lemms. If M$ just uses Halo as its savior, constantly drops all its exclusives into thePC, (Bioshock, Gears, Halo 1&2,) and refuse to fix up the hardware problems, its gonna sink fast like the original Xbox did.
megaton3k
hummm..., this has to be fast, got to go play Bioshock and Blue Dragon, but:
what should I do??? Oh god what should I do? Should I stop playing tht amazing 360 games? Should I? This guy says it's going down...
Heck... better go play then...
tip: go read some japanese game charts, and sleep over it...
360's futuredoesn't look so good. MS lost money on the original Xbox, but felt content to take the hit in order to establish market presence.I've seen that as being anywhere from $500 million to 2 billion. It's estimated that the RRoDsituation is going to costanother billion, not to mention a design flaw was just discovered that causes discs to be scratched (not enough paddingaround the laser). To date, 360 has sold 5.6 million units. The U.S. is the only country outthat buys into the hype and keeps them afloat. It isn't just Japan, Europe doesn't care for it either. I like Halo, but one game can't carry an entire system. Nintendo tried that with the 64 remember? Fanboys might not wanna hear that, butthat's how it is.
Sony wasn't interested in puttingout the PS3 just yet. MS forced them to enter the marketquicker than they wanted, and they devised a way to make the situation work for them. That's the real reason for Blu-Ray. With announcements fromBlockbuster and other retailersrecently, it seemsthey're probably going to win the format fight. What about the consoles? Realistically, the PS2has a lot of life in it. Sony's true fan base (35-40 million) hasn't moved on yet. There are still a lot of good games for it. Not everyone has to have the latest thing right when it comes out. Some that considered it, I think the backwards compatibility issue probablymade them think twice. Even so, they have still managed to sellaround 4 million units. That really isn't that far behindXbox when you think about it. How many of them have Sony alienated? That remains to be seen.
The Wii is gaining popularity for two big reasons. First, most peopleare just too busy to sit and play games all the time. There's a need for something quick and casual. Even us hardcoregamers, do we really get to play everything we'd like to? Don't have the money or the time. Second, this latest consolewar has gotten really heated between MS and Sony. I think people are just sick and tired of it. Stuff the corporate nonsense and focus on the games.

Cows are still a better analysts then the actual analysts that keep coming up with stuff.
Thank you for pointing out what should be the obvious..
I say should be because lemmings on here act like everyone that graces this planet wants a 360 because it has Halo Wars and Fable 2 coming.
