IPAD 3 is not more powerful than PS Vita

This is in response to the thread earlier, and unfortunately seems to have been accepted as fact by everyone, including one of the mods, who closed a thread earlier, because "everyone knew already".

Ipad 3 and PS Vita both use an ARM SOC, comprising of a CPU and GPU.

IPAD 2 has a dual core A9 CPU combined witha dual core GPU, theSGX543MP2.

IPAD 3 has the same dual core A9 CPU, combined with a quad core GPU,SGX543MP4.

Now the PS Vita has a QUAD core A9 CPU, combined with a quad core GPU,SGX543MP4+.

In addition, the ipad GPU is tasked with handling a considerably higher resolution, and therefore ps vita games will be much more graphically impressive.

Until the iPad 4.

If you're looking for a step up, then you should just wait a few months for Krait and Adreno 3xx.

I don't get why people always give Apple **** for this. Phones and computers are constantly getting better, this is not exclusive to Apple. It's not like they're forcing their customers to buy every version anyways...

It doesn't need to. It looks great as it is. Do you really think Angry Birds needs 2048x1536 resolution?? It may look nice, but it's completely superfluous.

Also, (just my opinion) the iPad will never, ever be considered a gaming device compared to the PS Vita. It may have games, but that is not it's primary function, like a dedicated gaming handheld.

It may not be more powerful than PSV, but it will sell more than it I can bet that.

i got the black berry play book. Ipads are cool but its not like all this power will be put into games. Vita will be better till ipad 4.

i certainly hope its more powerful than the vita..i mean, it is retailing for serveral hundred dollars more...oh yeah and if you want extra memory you have to pay 100 bucks more (and here i thought the vita mem cards were bad).

The fact is this though. If you are in a public place...restaurant, coffee shop, mall, waiting for you car to get its oil changed or at the barber, which device between the Ipad and the Vita makes you look more like a freaking loser. If you pull out the Ipad, you are simply considered a "techy". However, if you whip out a Vita or even a 3DS, you are looked upon as some nerd loser who can't put his games down long enough to get his hair cut!! FACT!!! Sorry, but it's true!!! Na he was playing a game like I was why would it be different. Some might even see them as more nerdish due to their size.p4s2p0

But see a laptop/tablet has more work related functions so it can be assumed he/she is using it wherever they are for work. Hell.. my mom does this now she takes her laptop pretty much everywhere and is considering an Ipad. However the same can't be said for handhelds. If your seen with a Vita/3DS then your 100% written off as a gamer which will raise eyebrows according to you age. Not that there's anything wrong with gaming, but handhelds mean your so addicted you can't leave you house without. Ipad is like a phone now it's socially accepted. No longer nerdy.

untill someone walks up behind you to see your playing .."shudder" an mmo lol (nothing against mmos that was a joke)

still though a vita 3ds is way more portable than an ipad laptop. portable gamming is meant to pass the time. (long wait at the dentist , long flight long car/greyhound bus ride). At a cafe most people just like to surf the net. People who write (type :P) on laptops at cafes are often seen as stuck up. watching movies just makes the person look like they have no friends or family at home to watch movies with.

All in all the cafe is not a place for gamming (your free to if you want) but its best used on what i mentioned an airport seems not to get any stange looks seeing as how almost everyone is on some sort of portable device.

His point was if your looking for a gamming device the vita is more powerful and half the price. plus as gammers whens the last time you where jonsing for a game of angry birds. "oh i cant wait till the new one.
