It really doesn't, there isn't a game on the iPhone that's even comparable to a dedicated gaming handheld. The 4S is - at best - roughly half as powerful as the Vita.
Where the Vita uses a quad-core Cortex-A9, the 4S uses a dual-core version.
Where the Vita uses a quad-core SGX543MP4+, the 4S uses a dual-core SGX543MP2.
I'm not sure how it could be any more clear that the Vita outperforms it. :P

The iPhone 4s, does gaming BETTER than the 3DS and the PSV. It's still valid. I smell *insert someting bad* Does gaming better in what sense? Graphical capabilities? Id take good controls over good graphics with a touchscreen + gyro anyday. The iPhone 4S, has the same hardware the iPad 2 does, it does out match the PSV, judging from the benchmarks it does..Method214Do you have a link to back that up?

most androids out performs iphone 4s but vita is way more powerful then any phone redskins26rocsActually iPhone 4S is the worlds fastest smartphone. Here look at the benchmarks. http://www.anandtech.com/show/4951/iphone-4s-preliminary-benchmarks-800mhz-a5-slightly-slower-gpu-than-ipad-2

lack of any real buttons like analogue sticks....yup its so much better for any tangiable gaming outside angry birds.
Playing SFIV on my mates was horrible, and i shudder to think what GTA3 will be like.
most androids out performs iphone 4s but vita is way more powerful then any phone redskins26rocsThe iPhone 4S is currently at the top of most available benchmarks for smartphones. A lot of that may be due to the antiquated Android 2.x.x OS, but nonetheless, the 4S is currently the fastest phone on the market and it also has the best smartphone GPU.
But the Vita is indeed quite a bit more powerful.
The iPhone 4s, does gaming BETTER than the 3DS and the PSV.Method214Oh yeah, the mighty touchscreen only gaming. Have fun.
The PSVita is the real competition for the iPhone.PSvita it have 2 analogs the iphone not.The 3DS it doesn't count anyway.AtariKidXWhy doesn't the 3DS count? Because it's behind the Vita in terms of tech? That's one of the same arguments people leave out the Wii as a console.

Your not a visionary like Steve Jobs (R.I.P) was, if we all thought like that we'd get no where (no offense). Analogs, are the old way, we've done it, we've mastered it, and you've enjoyed, but please, its time to move on now. Ive never liked the analog sticks, and im glad and happy that the iPhone 4s has touch controls, lemme ask you this, does change scare you? The touch GUI controls that the iPhone 4S has, are better than analogue controls. Playing SF and IB, is enjoyable for me, games like Modern Combat, redefine the FPS genre.[QUOTE="razgriz_101"][QUOTE="Method214"] The iPhone 4s, does gaming BETTER than the 3DS and the PSV. Outside games like Angry birds and tetris im brutally honest in saying touchscreens such absolute balls at doing anything Modern combat was meh and hardly a revolution in any way.A revolution for the FPS genre is Halo or Half life not some mehtacular iphone game.

Now I know you be trollin', Touch screen controls better than tactile ones? Whatever you say man.iPhone is not a dedicated gaming system and the Vita and 3DS are not cellphones. Why are you comparing them when they don't even play the same kinds of games? 90% of the people who bought the new iPhone 4S won't even play games on it, and the other 10% that do will be playing shallow 10 minute games that have poor touch-screen controls. :|
This game just looks like one big quick-time event. I'll pass.Im comparing it, because the iPhone 4s, does gaming BETTER than an EXCLUSIVE gaming machine like the 3ds and the PSV.

Hardware wise the Vita is better, so I'm not sure what your getting at.

Its diminishing returns sony sabotaged themselves with this one.
I'll be doing more comparisons when the PSV comes out, comparing them with iPhone 4S games, you'll see theres no point in a quad core cpu for a hand held device that doesnt even need that power, since the it will be wasted on the PSV.

Its true portable gaming, a true powerful system that can slip right in your pocket, which allows you to play the very best of games. The PSV cant EVEN fit in your pocket, cant make calls, has a low grade camera, and has low grade games. That's pre-rendered stuff. I mean, you don't even walk yourself. You click once to go somewhere, which is always the same. The only thing that really moves is you and the enemy. That doesn't take too much power. Walking would also give clumsy controls, like most games.Im comparing it, because the iPhone 4s, does gaming BETTER than an EXCLUSIVE gaming machine like the 3ds and the PSV.

I'd like to see something like Uncharted on that thing. Also, please, link more games than only IB, let's see what that piece of junk has to offer in gaming. I've got an ipod, I'm seeing the same stuff on my android device on the gaming market place as I'm seeing on the Ipods market. Angry Birds rip-offs and 2d stuff with again, bad controls.
Can't believe you compare a freaking smartphone with actual gaming handhelds. RAGE. I'm not hating on Iphone 4, it just isn't the same.

Just look at the changes the iphone 4 and 4s went by. The 4s CPU wise is about twize as fast because of the dual core A5 processor. And the becnmarks show that. Same res on both phones as well. So tech wise the Vita is better, how it performs on what ever OS sony decides to use we still dont know. But it does have a better CPU and GPU.[QUOTE="r12qi"][QUOTE="Method214"] Here watch the gameplay for Shadowgun, it's a gears of war clone, which NOT surprisingly is better than the microsoft game. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=91BiEvk4Cs8Method214

A resolution that "small"? You mean 540p, not far off from the 4S's prized Retina screen? If anything, the Vita's 5" screen (the largest in handheld history) significantly increases physical screen real estate compared to the 4S, making graphical details easier to identify and potentially more immersive.

This. Also I'm pretty sure the SDK on the vita allows a much lower coding than any phone around, so the Vita will probably look 3 or 4 times better than any phone out until that point. Also it's just stupid to comprare smart phones with gaming handhelds, the Vita has buttons and a strong line up, do you really want comprare Uncharted with angry birds? xD

Thats odd
because the Vita has 2 touch screens to the iphones 1,
a larger screen,
more power
, dedicated buttons
and 2 analog sticks

And its not always about the resolution.... if anyone has even seen the SGS2 Super AMOLED Plus screen it looks amazing. I was surprised at how good it looked considering its only a 800x480 in a 4.5 inch screen. The one on the Vita should be just as good since its a QHD OLED 5" screen. Please Log In to post.
