Go ahead and get the PSP. The iphone is the last play you want to go for gaming.

Wait for 3DS or get PSP 3000.

Iphone has games, but theyre short lived. Only 2 games I can honestly say were great, and thats NOVA and GTA. That is all. GTA is on PSP now, and Nova, well, you can live without it. Heroes of Sparta? A POS compared to GOW thats a fact! Angry birds is game if you have low standards and dig flash games, but again, coming to PSP too. Unless you need a phone, then Iphone is a good choice, but as a gaming unit, PSP.

Uh. Get a PSP. iPhone has some great games but the PSP is way better. I have an iPhone 4 and use my DS and PSP for gaming on the go primarily.

I disagree.

They're certainly in the top 10 phones. I would personally have a Galaxy S over it though.

you must have big pockets to carry them all around with a selection of games.

The PSP is the greatest handheld ever created. The iphone does not stand a chance, mainly because it is a phone. Coolyfett is not a big fan of phones as gaming units. Never been into the iphone device.

Why don't you buy the same phone without the 'i' and a PSP and still have some cash left over.

If you buy an Iphone and/or Ipod touch, you will be SERIOUSLY dissapointed in the gaming side of things. For gaming get a real gaming handheld...DS or PSP (or wait for 3ds).

For music and everything else, Yes the Iphone/Ipod is amazing (have both)

It's a good gaming platform there is lots of crap on the App store, however there are more than enough gems, however it is sure as hell not as good as the PSP as far as gaming goes. Get an iPhone if you want a smart-phone with all of its features... huge array of features, or a PSP if you wasn't a great dedicated gaming platform.

Warp Gate, Monkey Island (first and second), Chaos Rings, Canabalt, Space Invaders Infinity Genre, Plants Vs Zombies, Red Alert 3, Peggle, Real Racing, Jet Car Stunts, Star Defence, Zen Bound, Conquest, Pac-man Championship Edition, Mech Wars, Flight Control, Wolfenstein RPG, Geometry Wars, Phoenix Wright etc. That's off the top of my head. There are other excellent titles on the iPhone, problem is they are completely drowned up in the huge amount of shovel-ware on the terrible iTunes store. It's not a good primary gaming platform for gamers, but as that you *will* carry with you wherever you go giving you a short gaming fix, it's superb.

I have a hunch the next PSP will be a crossbreed between a smartphone and gaming platform, judging by the iPhone's success and the DS's domination of the traditional hand-held market.

This is where he's wrong. The iPhone, unlike the PSP, is actually GETTING support from its own company. Now how about that?

You're asking if you should be getting a phone for games or a handheld gaming system for games? -_-

i think calling a iphone or any modern smart phone 'just' a phone is really selling them short. they do WAY more than just phone calls and are more like handheld computers. its like dismissing a PC as just a word processor or spreadsheet machine.
