Coming off the back of e3....I'd say things are looking a lot brighter for Xbox than ps4. Sony showed nothing new. All the games had been announced previously, and 3 of the big 4 weren't even given a release date.
Dreams continues to elude us, Death Stranding looks like a bizarre walkathon, and as good as Ghost looks, it's yet another Samurai third person sword game, with the now obligatory from Sony stealth element.
Spiderman looks like a fun game....a bit like Sunset Overdrive - travel to problem area, use button combos, rinse and repeat.
Apart from that, no surprises. No teases of BB2, Shenmue 3, Uncharted, siphon filter or any new ip's. No hint of ps5, and probably the worst choreographed e3 show from Sony ever.
The whole Sony event was instantly eclipsed by FH4. 4k 60fps goodness with an insane amount of dedication from the devs - even going so far as driving to Scotland to record train sounds for authenticity.
Halo has a new engine and a new look. That alone generated more excitement than the announcement of a new halo. There's more maps for PUBG which is another point...why don't Sony think their players deserve a decent FPS? It's unbelievable to think that serious games where you carry around babies are prioritised over a good shooter....and where's the mp love?
Sony are blurring out Xbox controllers in their e3 videos, refusing to let fortnite players play with Nintendo players and generally ignoring features like bc.
So to answer your question... nope, in fact my faith in Xbox to remain my main source of gaming through 2018 and beyond has just gone skyward.
