Is 360 the new Dreamcast (ONE YEAR HEAD START) and Wii the new ps2?

personally i think so. just like the dreamcast the 360 had a year head start, but was that enough ? the answer is no. as we can see that the wii is only 2mil under from taking the crown from MS this gen, and only in 7 months. so what are your t houghts? can wii end up being being the ps2 and the 360 or ps3 end up being the dreamcast on sales wise? personally i think this gen will be

1. wii (if a fad then second place)

2. ps3 (because they seem to attract alot of causuals and hardcore gamers)

3. 360 (because they seem to attract ex pc gamers and harcore gamers. )

They are both after two VERY VERY different markets, they are almost not even competing.

here's how the demographics are split up:

The Red is what Nintendo is mainly after. The Yellow is what Microsoft is mainly after. And The orange is what they are both partly after.

The Xbox 360 is still consistently seling more than the PS3 each month and all of a sudden you expect it to drop off the map? This logic is baseless considering that the PS3 is not at all casual friendly with its $600 pricetag and the 360 still doesn't have its two biggest franchises on the market yet Halo 3 and GTA 4. When these two drop, 360 sales are going to see a significant increase. Combine that with a potential price drop and the 360 is poised perfectly to remain in the spot its in or possibly regain the lead.

The Wii might just be the PS2 of this gen, as it is dominating the sales charts with its casual friendly games and price.

The Dreamcast had something called VARIETY

The Dreamcast had amazing fighting games: SFTS, MvC2, CvSNK2, DoA2,VF3,KOF,Guilty Gear,PowerStone, and Soul Caliber

The Xbox 360 has: Dead or Alive 4...

The Dreamcast had awesome platformers: Sonic Adventure, Rayman2, Sonic Adventure 2, Croc 2

The Xbox 360 doesn't even have any platformers

The Dreamcast had awesome music games: Space Channel 5, Samba de Amigo, Space Channel 5 part 2, Rez, Feet n Fury, DDR

The Xbox 360 has DDR Universe and Guitar Hero 2....

The Dreamcast had awesome original *meaning not for PC*: Grandia II, Phantasy Star Online, SEGAGAGA, Skies of Arcadia, Socerian

The Xbox 360 doesn't even have any original RPG's out right now aside from Blue Dragon.

If it was a DreamCast...You know the dreamcast only failed because Sega did not have enough money to support it and went Bankrupt.

This is MicroSoft we are talking about. Calling it a Dreamcast would be a good thing.
