Is a PS3 worth the $700 + that you plan on spending on your new system ? Sure it has got astonoshing graphics and sounds but still, they still make PS2 games and a PSP just came out 2 years ago. Xboxes -- Screw it ! Xbox 360 -- Worth it for sure !! Especially cause of Guitar Hero II (and also out on PS2)
If you're looking for a cheap Blu-Ray player, no better deal around, a bonus if you want to play games as well. It will be more worth it if Blu-Ray wins the format wars, though as far as anyone can tell, it's going to remain undecided for quite sometime yet.
Only if you want to play 2nd rate games this year! Next Christmas would be a good time to scoop one, GOD of War 3 should be hitting around then, hopefully!

I think PS3 does worth it's money. Even without Blu-Ray player, the free online fee does help quite a bit. (5 x 60) + 400 = 700. So Xbox 360 isn't any cheaper than PS3 if you plan to play online. If you don't play games online, then you are missing out quite a bit of game but that's ok. PS3 still worth it's money as long as it keeps MGS4, FFXIII and other exclusive titles. Also larger hard drive, wi-fi, HDMI, and PS3 works as media device. I think it is pretty good deal.
$750 for 3 games is not really worth it in my opinion. I know people are claiming that the titles will get better, but won't 360, wii, and PC titles keep getting better also???
Well if you want free online, and games like MGS, FF, Socom, GOW, HS, Home, LBP, Killzone, and you have a good HDTV then buy it. And if you want a reliable console its worth it. But if your like me you should wait till those games are out or a price drop, but im still happy with my ps2.

Xbox 360 is $400, XBL for the 4 years you have it is another $200. Thats $600 Console and Online
PS3 is $600 Console and Online
With PS3 you have Wi-fi, Blu-ray, HDMI(add $20),40 Gb extra, 3 in 1 media card reader and a more realiable console (no red lights etc)Â
