I'm sick of them being the ones that are hyped...please some variety people please!slystallion26
They're not the only games that are hyped. For example: Little Big Planet, Infamous, Gears of War 2, Fable 2, Too Human, FFXIII.
All of these games have gained a decent amount of hype(whether or not its deserved) and none are FPS.
sort of, though this time I know for the first time I wont buy a call of duty game
far cry 2 looks good and fallout 3 if you count that as a fps
I'm sick of shallow shooters like Gears 2 and Killzone 2 getting all the hype and attention while fantastic-looking games like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear Sky are ignored in favour of the instant-gratification crowd.aliblabla2007I completely agree. Believe me you are not the only one who thinks this. These overhyped mainstream games are all about fancy graphics. Features like depth, choice and innovative content are a thing of the past in the FPS genre.

It will come back has more and more get made. The companies will start having to become more story driven to get more customers. Look at Bioshock if not for it's story that game may have been missed. Right now there is a huge market for anything that looks nice. We customer start understanding it not all about graphics. Than compaies will have to try harder to get the customers. At least that is what I hope.

The fact is if stalker or clear skies was a 360 or PS3 ecxlusive their would be a thread a day hyping it here on SW. Same with a few other PC games tbh. Can you imagine what it would be like if warhead was console exlcusive? KZ hype x100

I thought I couldn't get any more pissed at gaming journalism, but after the console-oriented RTSs received more attention from gaming journalists than Dawn of War II and Empire: Total War, I firmly believe that there is no bar to reach for how much distaste I can have for them.

Yup. Guess its just a sign of the times though. Those of us who don't live in ignorant land on planet console know different. I'd rather play DoW2 and Empires with 0 hype or attention from journalists than have to endure Halo Wars with hype and praise we know it will recieve.

Graphics get the mainstream more than anything else. I'm wondering why people chant "Gameplay, not graphics" all the freakin time and we still get this crap and have to endure the shallow, flashy games like Fallout 3 winning best of show awards based off name alone while real, solid classics like Planescape: Torment sit in the shadows, hoping that someday, people will appreciate them for just how good they are.
Sad thing is, Halo Wars isn't even that impressive visually, and yet again is hyped "becuz itz 'alo", and pretty much all of Tom Clancy's Endwars' "hype" comes from the gimmicky control scheme.
yes... It feels like im playing the same game every time play different 'FPS's. They're all too much a like.
Then stop playing them. I mean it is not rocket science.[QUOTE="N0-"]i know i amrybe1025
There is so many other games from racers, rpgs, and ect but yet there is always people upset that somehow they I guess are being tied to a chair and forced to only play shooters.
yeah when did say i fell like im forced to play them i didnt ask that i was asking if anybody else is getting sick of fps because there so many these days
I am in a few ways. I want to see some more sci-fi shooters (Quake) and fantasy shooters (Hexen), but all I see are WW2 shooters most of the time. Why is it impossible to make an FPS game where your most common weapon is a freeze gun, rocket launcher, plasma rifle, etc?
