Is anyone else disgusted by God of War?

GTA disgusts me. I hate playing any game where I have to do things that I wouldn't do in real life.

God of War is the same way. The so called "Hero" is a totally evil jerk.

Some people would call him a typical Anti-Hero, but I'm not convinced that anything he does is good.

And yet this is one of the most talked about games on Sony's systems; Why do people like this crap? What happened to real heroes? You know, the ones you could look up to?

I don't like Kratos either, but that doesn't mean the God of War franchise isn't great to play.

Also, while I did find Kratos to be completely overrated (particularly in the badass department), I wouldn't go so far as to say he was bad enough of warranting disgust. Now, Kane and Lynch were just repulsive.

I'd say Kratos falls more into the antihero category. Antiheroism has been in literature for many years.

LOL. GoW3 does not disgust me aand many others. Sure it has strong gore but if you been sheltered of course its going to disgust you. Anyway, the game was never about being a hero,but its about vengeance and wrath.

Some people like myself love Kratos for the very thing that turns you off. He's ruthless, evil, and he won't settle for anything less than complete devestation to everyone and everything. The rules given to him by the gods mean jack*** to him. It's what makes the game so very awesome! 8)

nope I actually enjoy god of war, but I take it you didn't like dead space either? since you probably wouldn't cut creatures in half in-real-life...or metal gear solid 4, or demon's souls, or devil may cry, or resident evil, or shadow of the colossus. I mean, you probably wouldn't climb a colossus in-real-life and stab it in the head a few times.

God of War is extremely shallow, repetitive, and pretentious. Yet, extremely popular. So yes, I am disgusted by it.cheese_it

No, I just think the "badass" levels people say Kratos has are exagerated. I also laugh at how Kratos' extreme violence is somehow cool. Its laughably silly to be honest.

No, not realyl, GOW is a pretty fun game though not really the best in the hack-slash, action area.

Also, maybe Kratos was not meant to be portrayed as a hero in the first place and not everyone wants a "real hero" in the games? You say it as if there aren't plenty of "real" heroes in gaming anyways.
