Sell on Ebay or amazon and he should make a quick $70 AT LEAST (if its in good condition)I still have my original Day 1 PAL release, I think i paid about 43 UK Pounds for the game on the local market videogame stall.
I have seen FF7 in Gamestations as of recent, but ive heard they are getting rid of the older pre owned stuff, so im unsure if they will be keeping ps1 games on shelves.
Its ussually on Ebay for about 15-20 pounds, maybe its just expensive stateside.

Is FF not your cup of tea, or do you just think this one in particular is poor?
The Pal version isn't worth aanything (more than a regular PSone game).really? i must have owned 3 Final fantasy 7 now and they all cost me less then 10 euros
(bought it at a second hand store)
one of them i gave it to a friend and another had one of discs stop responding

Its the U.S. version and probably the japanese version that's really valuable
I still got the original copy of it... Case is slightly broke though.Dahaka-UK
MInes pristine, as is FF8, FF9 and Metal Gear Solid.
I offloaded most of my ps1 games years back, one of the games i regret selling was Resident Evil 2, ive been itching to play it again for years, i wish they would release a DS port.

FF is fun, but doesn't have the timeless values the other games have. When I said £5 I meant I sold it in 2001, I tried to love it again but..it just wasn't very good and has aged extremely poorly. However I go back to Goldeneye or Zelda:OOT and I have a blast! Simply, I sell a game the moment they don't became interesting.
I almost feel like buying a few Final Fantasy VIIs to sell now. The one under my bed isn't in such a good condition. But taking advantage of people makes me feel like a bad person.
Hmm what is the next game or are there any more games that people will buy for more than they are worth?
No I must kill these thoughts. They seem so similar to scalping.
Not really, people want it, price goes up. Thank Square for not re-releasing the game when they should have already and the rabid fanboys for wanting as many copies as they can get their hands on.foxhound_fox
Yeah, thank goodness Square doesn't want to make a few million off of an old game.

Maybe they'll release it on PSN store.

Not to mention, the day you buy a few copies at $100 a pop, the day after is when SE decides to re-release it.

Mate, Big Rigs gets a massive statue dedicated to it. What do you think the book in the statue of liberty contains. Yeah, my copy of Big Rigs.

I think two words are missing from your post but I understand all the same and I could very well see it happening that way and it certainly wouldn't be the first time something like this happens.
Finally gaming is an expensive hobby and cheapassgamer is one of my favorite sites. I will jump through the hoops if it saves me money.

Perhaps playing it the first time, but I've tried to replayed it and failed.

I disagree, unlike OoT which has aged just like any Zelda (besides MM, and even somewhat WW), FF games tend to keep their value due to their deep central storyline and character development. It's one of those games you can find enjoyable your first time playing it even in the year 2008.
And to the TC, you aren't missing that much, although it's good to experience the game it wasn't nearly the best in the series.

There are many who have played the earlier Final Fantasys. I think it has more to do with when you played them. The first of many thing will always have a special place in your heart and this makes it hard to be completely impartial.
Let me get this out of the right now. I liked and still do like Final Fantasy VII however there are those who played Final Fantasy VII first and THEN went back and played the ones that came before it. While it's true that they can say that they played all of them, they never got to experience the earlier ones in the time they were meant for. They allowed themselves to be wowed by Final Fantasy VII's visuals in 97 but said that Final Fantasy VI's visuals were crap in 2001 when they could have be wowed in 94. This is not to say that visuals are everything but countering "visuals aren't everything" with "they make a game that much more atmospheric" seems to be a trend these days.
It's a collectors item now. Understandable. I still know a few people with the original copy and they wouldn't part with it for the worldf50p90
im one of those. it would take a court order...from nato....backed by heavy armed fources to make me part with it. im playing it again on and off on my PS3 now and i swear..it hasnt aged a day.

You can easily find it for under $50 used. Its not even close to one of the more valuabe or obscure JRPGS out there.Blackbond
True, but, I could never get into it myself, I oplayed it a few years after the factmind you but..still, doens't have that timeless quality I find.darkslider99
