Is anyone else starting to loste interest in NPD numbers?

This question is for those that do care about the NPD numbers and have always kept up with them every month, ofcourse if you never cared about NPD to begin with this question wouldnt apply to you.

I was one of those that really keeps up with the NPD numbers monthly and look forward to them every month. But lately im just losing interest in them, i mean i just miss good games, it just doesnt seem like it matters anymore. Infact i even forgot about the recent NPD numbers that just came out until i came on system wars.

I care about them a whole lot.

Its become too redundant now. Wii is always on top and the 360 and PS3 are usually switching places every other month.

I never cared. We are gamers all we should care about are the games.

no way, NPD always brings out the lulz in the forums

Hardware I could care less but I am somewhat interested in software numbers, I like to see underdogs do good :P for example Heavy Rain and Demon souls.

SW use to be flooded with sales threads, they stopped when people relized that it's the same thing month after month pretty much.

SW members created something more ridiculous to worry about anyway... graphics king.

well i only look at them to shut fanboys on yahoo up other then that , no real reason to care,

we all know nintendo is the victor whether or not they chose graphics over motion , and we all know the only real battle is the positions 2 and 3 , , cause honestly even if wii was to be overtake nintendo still won somthing-ds being there

as this gens possibly getting down on the wire ,

its 6-7 yrs in total weve been in this gen since 04 with ds and psp and 360 05 , ,

wii and ps3 followed 06 late

so ya um , , i dont care no more bout sales its about games and right now wii has been that spot for me ,

sure ps3 and 360 have online but besides mw2 and other fpses there isnt much to say now cause i got all 3 ,

and i enjoy em all ,,just the wii a tad more because of the variety it brings ,

and im more then happy now that 4 games in total from my childhood are returning to their roots

so ya, im so happy , , this may just end up being the gen i thought n64 gen was

where classics were re invented or remade and new games were born

its appearent and all ,

sure yall can say wii has alot of shovelware but so did ps2, , and ps1 and snes nes gb etc ,, it runs in the succesful family of consoles , thats a known fact

some day youll find your way through it all ,

with all the new stuff for 2010 already and 2011 ,possibly who can go wrong i know our wallets will hurt thats about it lol

N64 blew the PS1 out of the water when it came to games, and while the PS2 had a lot of games I felt most of then were lackluster and I forgot about them as soon as I put them down. So maybe you should use "I" instead of "we" because I don't see things the way you do. Hell there's people out there who thought the Xbox was the best system last gen. Dreamcast > PS2 N64 > PS1

IYO, PS1 had a lot of games but so did the N64. But the PS1 destroy's the PS2 in the number of good games. PS1 was a great systems, just the N64 was better for me.

I never had a interest in NPD numbers. I can't play numbers so numbers mean nothing to me. What matters to me are the games and which system is best for me for those games.

I'll read them when I see them posted, but won't seek them out. They're cool to see trends in the local gaming community (country) but aren't really a good indication of anything else. They aren't even a good indication of what the US prefers, but rather of what they're aware of.

NPD records do contribute significantly to WW sales anyway, and the U.S. is a big and important market.

GAMES seem to take a back seat often to those little points of discussion oh and SALES has always been a staple of debate in System Wars.

Was last generation, and the one before that and before that.

I' ve never been interested in NPD...maybe because I'm not American.

It does make me laugh that there are a few people that don't seem to understand that America =/= rest of the world :D

I am neither interested nor uninterested in the numbers. They are nice to know, but it is sadly used for ownage around here.

No. I still have the same amount of intrest in them from day 1.

Even though the results are the same every month, I like to see where we stand.
