Borderlands was not a beast when it came to review scores, but it became nonetheless a very surprising success. It definitely took some risks and overall it won.

So there have already been incredibly strong hints of a borderlands sequel. Question is, do you think in 2011 Borderlands is still a great, memorable game worthy of the sequel being rumored for it. Sure any game can get a sequel, but do you personally care for Borderlands at all to even root fora sequel?

Also, if you care for the sequel, what do you think the sequel is going to have to do to catch ur interest?

I'd love a sequel!

To get me to buy it, it would need small changes graphically, but nothing much. One thing i'd love is more custom options. We get to make our own guns. Do want.

Game was incredibly boring single player, but I got a friend to play with me, and we played through four times in a row.

I would buy a sequel.

I'm playing it right now and enjoy it alot. MP doesn't really do it for me so i've been sticking to the single player.

A sequal would be a good buy. A more fleshed out story would be a plus imo.

I would kill for a Borderlands sequel...it is quite possibly my favorite hd game.... One thing I would want is more enemy types. Fighting Skags and Bandits for just about the whole game got pretty boring....and online splitscreen co-op would be a really big plus!. And better skills...and more guns and weapon types....like swords(as an actual equip-able weapon) and bows.

it's fun with a group of friends. i bought it on steam and all the dlc for dirt cheap. it starts getting a little boring and stale though rather quickly. i'll pick up a sequel if it ever comes out and is cheap on steam. i would never buy it for full price thats for sure. itd be cool if they added things like body armor like say torso guard, legs, arms, accessories like diablo does with rings and amulets. heck some kind of rune system would be cool too. as far as story goes, plz plz plz have a better ending for the sequel. an ending that makes you go "awesome, didnt see that coming", instead of the ending in part 1 that made you go "thats it? that sucks?"

Well the game was basically Diablo but in FPS style. It was fun when played with others, they just fix and upgrade some things here and there and we get a great game. So, why not.

Borderlands was not a beast when it came to review scoresms555

What are you talking about? Anyway, a sequel is worth it, why not? People loved it. Anyway, I'd expect Borderlands 2 will probably work on enhancing the presentation and story telling since those were the most frequent criticisms toward it and maybe gameplay variety. I'd probably get it, I don't care how they treat the story, so long as the game is fun.

Yes! But next generation.

I'd like it to include more classes, a larger world and a decent PvP system, item crafting from materials dropped by specific monsters and a counter-measure to the glitches/duping.

I'd definitely buy a sequel.

The only problem would be how they handle a new plot, as there are certain things...

I also hope that they might add some more activated abilities. I'd like a slightly higher RPG weight.

Definitely! But they are going to have to really add to it. I feel that if done right, and the loot/leveling systems were done with more customization and complexity (like Diablo II), it could be one of my favorite games.

In a word, YES!. The developers had the guts to make a different style of game and here we all want a sequel. Its one of our all time favourite LAN and single player games. Even with the rinse and repeat of shooting enemies that look familiar, we enjoyed the competition between ourselves and that was one of the defining factors that helped make this game so good. The DLCs were great and challenging. PLEASE MAKE ANOTHER ONE!

I thought Borderlands was pretty meh, even when I had 3 other friends playing with me all we did was running around doing our own thing most of the time...It felt like Wow except without, you know, the incentive to hit the level cap. I generally would welcome a sequel though, hopefully they would add a few more classes and less fetch quests. The other thing I disliked about Borderlands is all the legendary weapons were randomly generated, It made me feel like less of a badasswhen I had the same gun as my friend(except his gun name was in green and mine was in yellow).

depends, they're going to have to make considerable changes since Brink looks to own it as far as the multiplayer co-op goes, and I really really want Gearbox to finish up Aliens: Colonial Marines, I hope they finish that before they even consider starting Borderlands 2, and if Borderlands 2 is just the first game with different missions, some different characters, and the same lack of story, I'll probably pass it up until an edition with all DLC is release and even then I'll wait until that hits $20

Borrowed the regular edition off my friend when it first came out. Played it for a week straight, loved it. Ended up buying the GOTY edition about a month ago. Still love it. Bring the sequel anytime.

For an 8.5-ish game, to me it was more like a AAA title. Highly addictive and fun especially in co-op. There's SO much they could do with the sequel that would blow your mind.

Absolutely yes but absolutely next gen not this gen since it would split the community. Just make some superb DLC and launch a Borderlands 2 at the start of next gen would be the best strategy IMO.:P

As good as Borderlands was, there was room for a ton of improvements. I want a sequel to fix what was wrong with the original.

  1. Add a lot more variety to the areas instead of just having a load of junkjards and deserts.
  2. More enemy variety
  3. Improved RPG elements and character customization.
  4. More creative weapons
  5. More weapon types, like flamethrowers and grenade launchers.

2K Games would have to cut out the crap of allowing digital distributors to sell their games but cutting them off from DLC content at the same time.

Imo that is dumb marketing on 2K's part.

Short answer - yes

some changes that are needed or imo would be a good idea would be...

1. A more cohesive world, essentially only a few really large areas, rather than many different zones to load into.

2. A far more intricate talent tree

3. A story would be nice, the story of the first was on par with something akin to Super Mario Bros.

4. Put more money into the budget for things like lip-synching dialogue... and just have more dialogue over all, just have the NPC's be far more expressive.

Those are really the only things I would change about it.

Hell yes. With Borderlands as a stepping stone, and learning from their mistakes, they could make an epic sequel.
