Is Zelda: BOTW the 1st big Nintendo game with janky framerate in the past decade?
I haven't owned any Nintendo games/consoles since GBA but always hear how Nintendo prioritizes "smooth performance" in their recent titles.

Hyrule Legends had a bad framerate, not developed by Nintendo, but a big game using the IP.
The 3ds version esp (on older models) sometimes dips under 20fps.
I believe even the Ps2 ran Dynasty Warrior games at 60fps.

Oh. BOTW is in house Nintendo right? If third party then I guess the janky nature isn't that bad but if it's Nintendo first party.. does that mean they're not that good? It looks pretty barren and seem lower poly than a typical assassin creed game from the past few years but not even stable?
Maybe the AI is super genius and that's where the processing power is going?
I saw some gameplay where the blonde main guy throws axe on the grass and there were frame hiccups and only 1 enemy on the screen. Perhaps bad capture?

It's Zelda so critics will be incredibly bias. It's pretty much a guarantee IGN will give it a 10 and call it a redefining game that save humanity.

The bias (if there is any) would only come because the games have been consistently good-to-great.

Yeah, if a game gets a good review it must be bias.
But the Orange Box is better than BOTW and that didn't get a 10. Even though Portal alone was better.
Definitely bias, no question. Brand name effecting reviews rather than reality.
