I have recently been toying with the idea of getting a gaming PC. I am however having a hard time justifying whether or not this is a worthwhile thing to do. I already own a PS3, 360 and a decent enough laptop to play pretty much everything but the recent Shogun and Witcher 2.

..

Now being a recently graduated and basically in the money I can afford myself a good PC but dont know if its worth the investment. I would like to preface this by saying that I have really been playing less and less recently. So system warriors, to those that already own the 360 and the PS3, do you think it is worth it to spend a $1000 plus on a PC? (Posted in SW since this is a much more trafficked forum then any of the system dedicated ones, for SW purposes: Dont want the Wii)

Eh if you're playing games less, already have a decent laptop, and have a 360 and ps3, I'd say it's not worth it. You can get a good desktop for way less than $1,000 however, just post on the pc hardware forum. I'd actually recommend a wii however, plenty of great games like smg, mario kart, ssmb, etc. Especially since it's only $150 now.

Or you could just start saving that money, $1,000 right now will be a lot more 30 years down the line.

TBH, I would save that $1000+ for food, since you are recently graduated.

I'd say so, you'd definitely be able to appreciate the difference when stepping up to a PC from the 360/PS3.

The games run/look better, the MP is better and free, the games are cheaper and easier to access plus it has the largest and most varied library of any of the platforms. Also it's always towards the end of the current gen consoles that the PC starts getting more love like with the upcoming BF3. Good time to get into it.

TC... If you simply looked ONE page over, you would have noticed the Thread Is it Worth it to get a Gaming Pc

P.S.
You don't need to spend 1000+ dollars to get a Pc that can play games in high quality
Just asking, if you feel its redundant and have nothing to add what is the point of posting?

Shogun 2 is absolutely worth getting a new PC for.

... but if you're playing less and less, why even bother?

Check time stamp and what I posted. Also, why make a redundent thread when obviously you could get a feel if you should or shouldn't get a PC from a thread from earlier today? Again for sake of argument and what SW members have stated on this I will direct you to Is it really worth it to get a gaming pc

You can get a decent gaming desktop for $1,000. Out of all of the platforms, a desktop runs the coolest, has the best fans and airflow. Not only that, but desktop gaming offers the user a level of control over his games that you don't have anywhere else - want better fans, put 'em in. Want a better CPU or GPU, put it in (just check your power supply first).

Depends on how old and crappy your car is. If it still runs fine, then sure, go ahead and get that super fast, shiny new PC. If your car's always breaking down and is a piece of crap, then it would be wiser to look into getting a new car.

Yes it definitely is. Better graphics, controls, mods, online, customization, cheaper games, and obviously some awesome exclusives (as with any system), like Diablo :). PC is my go to machine.

I like my PC as well as consoles, so I say yes... It's kinda dependant upon the individual though.

This, it seems like half the posters aren't even reading the OP. Just spouting the generic stuff they usually say in threads like these, depending on what platform they like.

You said you graduated from college?

And you're asking a bunch of strangers on the internet what your personal finance priorities should be?

Pc gmaing is worth it for a gamer. There's a ton of stuff that makes it the best gmaing platform out there.

As to whether or not YOU personally should purchase one instead of whatever else... that's something you should probably think about on your own.. you know.. like a grown up.

Well laptops are pretty bad for gaming it will be useless for gaming at some point since you can't upgrade em. You don't have to spend $1000+ on a pc that's only if you're one of those crazy enthusiast that play 1080P+ with 8xMSAA AND BLABLA
