[QUOTE="osan0"]depends on where ure playing.
if ure playing on the move then DS>PC (or laptop in this case). DS has a better battery life and is more durable. its also alot smaller which is great for protable play and the touch screen is far better than track bads and nubbins found in laptops. yes u can bring a mouse but thats more luggage and hassle which defeats the whole portable gaming bit.
if ure going to put the DS up against PDAs and phones then it still has the advantage due to a better liberary and better controls (i hate playing games on my phone). so from a portable persepective, PCs arent really up to the job imho. theres loads of PC games that would be very suitable for portable play though. portable hardware just isnt available.
so if ure playing on the DSs turf.....it remains the king imho. portable gaming is what the DS does best.
now if u want to play on home turf (ie, portability and the size of the machine are non issues, as is battery life and durability) then the DS is still very respectable but it cant really stand against the PC. it has some games that u could get lost in for hours (advane wars FTW....cracking game) but the PC has more and its controls are superior overall.
imho anyway.

Exactly, neither one is better. Just like if you like to play with a controller and not worry about drivers and upgrades, then consoles > PC. Or if you like to play at your desk PC > Consoles.
That's understood each one has their moments to shine, but overall which is better (all things being the same). Is DS > PC or is PC > DS.
well PC is my fav platform. yes it can be expensive (dont ask for the price of my rig......lovely treat though :D) and yes it can be more hassle with drivers n such like but imho, when it does work (and it does most of the time in my experience) then its oh so very worth it. controlling those legions in rome total war, adventuring in the beautiful world of outcast, playing the best version of deus ex 1....best game ever made ever. the horsepwer and resources available to PC games really lets devs do whatever they want to do pretty much. granted those games are few and far between, they can eat even high end rigs for breakfast and they can be released in a bad state, but when they arrive....they generally set the standard by which all other games are judged. imho to play PCs best is to be on the rickity edge, brand new and untested game mechanics and technologies.....the forefront of the industry. arguably this isnt as true now as it was in the past since the cost of development and the risks are too high now (ie the industry has no balls) but theres still that element too it. thats what i love about PC as a gaming platform. which is better is an opinion really....the above is my opinion.
on a different matter....the reason consoles and PCs can be directly compared is because there essentially going after the same market (well PC kinda goes for everyone.....different PCs n all that). there liberaries are now quite similar since publishers have basically plonked the PS3, 360 and PC together. there both entertainment systems for the home. so it boils down to this. for every copy of bioshock bought on 360, the PC looses a sale and vise versa. the same cant be said for handhelds since they have very little overlap.
