thats after the DEMO and everyone realizing how crap it was, before that and as far as many people who dont follow games know, its the return of the original. Hell DN3D was the first FPS i ever played when i was a kid. It's a misunderstood game.
No one, not even me, had extremely expectations for it.

Pretty much. 15 years and 50 million dollars plus, and this is the result?

F*** the haters. The sig is staying. Duke is still awesome. DNF just isn't, apparently. The development cycle hurt the game, it didn't help it. You can tell this game is running on an engine from the mid 2000s, and a lot of the animations are from the released footage back when 3D Realms went under. If you followed the history it changed engines frequently and lacked from solid direction. The game does feel lifeless.
I'm a huge Duke Nukem fan, and yeah, this is a disappointment. But I'm happy I supported the future of the franchise (or maybe I'm in denial, perhaps). This isn't Gearbox, by the way. This is a 3D Realms game so don't go and trash the wrong company. I feel like a broken record, but I'll say it again: If Gearbox gets a chance to make their own Duke game I bet it'll be awesome.
*Wonders how GT5 would have turned out on a 12 year dev cycle*nope. that honour goes to gt5

Daikatana was worse. At least Gearbox didn't say "Gearbox is about to make you their b****."foxhound_foxApparently, however, Daikatana was a better game. :o
Someone at Gearbox pulls up the MC ratings, and the Gearbox office just explodes. :PYup. It might crash the game industry.

I say yes. Never has a game been so highly anticipated for so long and when it finally gets released, it scores worse then 95% of all games that are released. Duke Nuken=fail lol
I'm pretty sure it wasn't in development for 10+ years. More legal limbo than development.DroidPhysX
Yeah. I'm sure it was more like six months of development, everything to the trash. Two years of limbo. Another six months of development, everything to the trash. More years of limbo, and so on..........until Gearbox delivered this trash.
nope. that honour goes to gt5

considering gt5 got a decent score, is selling gorgeously well, and no where near the dev time that dnf had, no...just no.. in fact no where near close as biggest failure in gaming. i would nominate games like
DNF
Too Human
FF14
and im sure there are a few more with such high calibur fail
