Is EA thinking about making their own console?

I don't think EA is. There have been rumors, but at this point that is all they are.

If EA did make their own console and turn all their games to first-party for their console, well expect that to be one powerful force. Dead Space, Skate., Bioware titles, Madden, and a bunch of other titles.

They would have a LOCK ON THE SPORTS GAMES :

FIFA, NASCAR, MADDEN, TIGER WOOD, NHL, NBA, etc.

Then they got other great titles like ROCKBAND, Deadspace, etc.

It would kind of be bad, I think, as then I would have to buy ANOTHER console, uh.

It would not really hurt NIntnedo because EA games have never sold well on a Nintendo system anyways.

Yeah, I think M$ would be hit the hardest, followed by Sony.

Nintendo would come out of it pretty unscathed.

This would be VERY bad ! atleast for me.

The more i look into a universal console which can set you tension and purchase free for the next 3-4 years the more consoles keep increasing the gaps between them.

yeah that would be smart for them. make there own system that they release there own games on and get rid of the multiplatform titles profits that made them as big as they are in the first place. perfect sense.

Bioware, 2K, Critereon, dozens of EA studios.

I would definitely consider buying an EA console if it were to happen. On top of those exclusive companies they would get support from devs like Activision, Capcom, Ect.

Nope they won't. They will gain much more money on just doing software.

First of all their share has been falling steadily and they probably don't have enough to invest on hardware R&D. Second they gain so much money on the multiplat model, that going exclusive to themself will decrease their income.

what makes people so sure the nfl or nba would be willing to renew their licences with EA if they can only appear on EA's console?

the market is already oversaturated with 3 console makers imo and they are far too established already. Mass effect is one of my favorite games of all time and dead space is amazing but i'm not willing to buy another console for those two games.
