Is every video game movie announced a practical joke now?

It's like I keep seeing breaking news about new videogame movies being made, but no further information is released -- ever.

According to gaming news the following movies have been announced:

Devil May Cry
Halo
Metal Gear
World of Warcraft
Resident Evil: Degeneration (CGI movie)

and most recently Prince of Persia.

The DMC movie was announced around the time DMC3 came out, no footage or anything but they said they were. Haven't heard anything. Granted, a DMC movie would be terrible (well it has great potential to be the new Blade but they would need new script writers)

Halo movie was announced as we all know, I could of sworn I read somewhere that Peter Jackson was directing. Then we see that real life Halo footage and later told that, "oh it was made to show people wat it would be like if Halo was made into a movie." Ok....

At least that's what I heard....Otherwise no new info..

A Metal Gear movie was announced, not the MGS3 cutscene movie that no one was allowed to see -- but a real movie was said to be in the works. Nothing to be seen.

Blizzard announced it was making a WoW movie. Could be a really sweet CGI movie but again, it's like it doesn't even exist. Not even a teaser.

Resdident Evil: DG was announced with a trailer, but now it feels like a joke or some tech demo of what could of been.

And now Prince of Persia, the only one I truly believe in because they have actor as leading role who i actually recognize.

So will all these be released by 2012 or what?

They're probably waiting to see when the next installment of each series arrives to try and release it at the same time. Maybe.

I know Bioshock is coming next year and it ISN'T being directed by Uwe Boll. Any move that is directed by that **** is ignored. Next movie he will ruin: Far Cry.

oh yeaa i saw a far cry trailer. Looked like a terrible straight to dvd sci fi channel flick.

looks that way...i was somewhat disapointed with the hitman movie.LinKuei_warrior

Game movies are awful. The only one that was somewhat OK was Resident Evil, and even that wasn't anything special.

I'd even rather Hollywood just focus on remaking the hell out of old movies. I gotta admit I'm excited to see the new Friday The 13th.

He means the movie, Hitman is awesome.

Also, theres a Street Fighter movie and a Max Payne movie coming out in 2009
