When major gaming websites such as gamespot have a "prepare yourself for X game" or frivolous shows like "the science of X game" or "the gun the show" do you find these informative gaming sourced of simply promotional material badly disguised turning an upcoming AAA mainstream marketed game  game into an event?

If you remember back to Battlefield 3, EA working with gamespot had a "competitive" launch event promoting the PS3 version.

Gamespot, like every other gaming site, is chasing after hits. As such, they follow the market trends, and if they see their audience is showing interest in a certain game/event, they provide content based on the same game/event.

Its not only gamespot that is bias. its marketing. to pay all big sites for advertisement and finally for reviews for AAA mainstream games. it was done with GTA5, COD4 and now will be on BF4 and any other popular game will release.SNIPER4321
Nothing you claim has any credibility when you also believe the Illunati is a thing.

I agree with this. In the most recent episode of the Point, Danny explained this exact thing for anyone willing to watch it.

You should apply for a reviewer somewhere, that'd be a sight to see!

And since when it having to pay for advertising space a bias? :?

I haven't even watched it, was just going by common sense... only, too bad a good chunk of the Internet isn't concerned with common sense in the slightest! :P

Would you like to join the Illunati? We have a jolly good time messing with the lives of random kids in Russia.

You're right, you don't scare anyone... glad you at least haven't attempted to claim otherwise! :)

They're a website that support themselves with hits.  Makes sense to focus on the popular games/ genres.

Gamespot biased?? What? No friggin way!!! See System wars...MS fan makes a post that is anti Sony/PS4...Gets locked within 10 replies. However, when a blatant, rabid Sony fanboy...(nathandrakeswag or davekeeh) make a XBOX ONE bashing thread it has 8 pages and goes for days!!! Bias??? Never!!!

man Gamespot has been doing things for Battlefield for a long time.

In fact the sole reason why I made a Gamespot account was so I could get on the Battlefield Bad Company 2 beta.
