wow gaming this year is definately going to be huge and a big war, but is it going downsouth? So much fanboyism, stupid bashing, people buying systems for the wrong reasons, making up lies to attempt to make a system look bad...where is this going to end? Im starting to think gaming may be dying, maybe not in the sense that companies are making huge amoutns of cash and people will always buy games, but it seems that only Hardcore gamers understand gaming and that even some of them are making themselves look bad with stupid rants on whos going to win and why one company is better than the rest what do you guys think?

   I don't care what others are buying. I care what I buy, and I have enjoyed my choices thus far.Â
   As for gaming in general, it will grow larger this generation than last, and I see that growth continuing.Â

When i say south i mean backwards in MY personal opinion the Wii is pushing gaming backwards and since its sailing the fastest at the moment its pushing gaming industry backwards all the Wii has been puting out in my eyes nothing but last gen games or old nintendo franchise

The reason why there's more of it this year is because the current gen has arrived in force and as of yet there's no clear winner. It was just like this last launch too.

how is the wii pushing the games industry backwards though? i agree that, at the mo, there is an awful lot of crap on the machine. however is this an inherint fault of the machine or weak developers? imho its the devs. alot of them are doing quick and dirty PS2 ports with bolted on controls to try and make a quick buck. ubisoft are probably the most guilty of this. far cry and POP shouldnt have happened. also the PS3 and the 360 have their fair share of crap released. however it also has some games where a bit of effort went in. i got heatseeker on the wii recently. not the best game ever but its good fun. i also love using the nunchuck and wiimote to pilot the plane in pro controls mode. it feels great.

as for old nintendo franchises...every machine is going to have sequals to last gen hits. whats the game most 360 fans are looking foreward too? halo3 how about PS3 fans? MGS4. wii fans are no different.
